The chairman of the Quan Group, Quan Mu Hai, has passed away. 0

This once-mighty figure in the business world, a legend in his own right, has finally succumbed to the inevitable fate that awaits all mortals—aging, illness, and death—now resting in a grave. 0

In the solemn funeral hall, his only daughter, Quan Qing, dressed in black, mournfully thanked each guest who came to pay their respects. 0

At just 19 years old, she had grown up carefree like a child, free from worries and responsibilities. 0

However, from this moment on, as the sole heir of the Quan Group, she must quickly mature and take over the vast company. 0

No one would stand behind her like her father did, providing her with unwavering protection. 0

Now, she was all alone. 0

As night fell and the frost settled heavily with dew, Quan Qing sat on the rooftop drinking beer, each bottle flowing down her throat like plain water. 0

She wasn’t drowning her sorrows in alcohol; rather, she was lost in thought—pondering her father's death. 0

The doctor had said it was a sudden heart attack that claimed his life due to not taking his medication in time. It was true that her father had heart problems, but he always carried his medication with him and had never forgotten it. This time would have been no different! 0

Quan Qing's gaze darkened, flickering with complex emotions. 0

At that moment, the door to the rooftop swung open, and a man dressed in black approached her. 0

He was about thirty-five years old, with a sorrowful expression on his face that would evoke sympathy in anyone who looked at him. 0

"Uncle." Quan Qing stood up. 0

" Qing'er, how did you learn to drink?" Her uncle, Yan Lail, looked at the pile of beer cans scattered across the table and scolded her with concern, "Drinking is harmful to your health. If your father knew, he would be upset even in the afterlife." 0

"I understand. I won't drink anymore," Quan Qing lowered her head. 0

Yan Lail sighed and patted her shoulder, saying, " Qing'er, there's something I haven't had the chance to tell you. When I found your father lying on the ground, he still had a breath left. He had a last message for you." 0

Quan Qing's eyes brightened instantly. "What did my father say?" 0

He paused for a moment, his expression turning strange and his tone becoming eerie. "He told you to come down and keep him company!" 0

Quan Qing's face changed dramatically. "Uncle, what are you saying?" 0

Fear gripped her as she took a few steps back, but Yan Lail suddenly seized her by the throat and pushed her against the railing. 0

Half of her body dangled over the edge, with the pitch-black night sky above her. Suddenly, clarity washed over her heart as she shouted, "You killed my father! It was you!" 0

"And what if I did?" Yan Lail laughed recklessly, "Who told him to have a heart condition? It was too easy!" His laughter was hoarse, like a night owl that should not be seen. 0

Quan Mu Hai had worked hard to manage the the Quan and build it to its current scale. Yet now he wanted to pass all his hard work onto Quan Qing. She, a pampered young lady who only knew how to indulge in pleasure and knew nothing else, had no right to claim his achievements. 0

The the Quan belongs to him, to Yan Lail! 0

A beastly rage surged in his eyes as he pushed hard, causing Quan Qing to tumble over the railing. Yet, he still held tightly onto her hand. 0

“Uncle!” Yan Lail’s face turned sorrowful again, tears glistening in his eyes. “ Qing'er, why are you thinking like this? Your father is gone, but you still have your uncle! How can you think of jumping off the building? I want to save you, but you don’t want to live… I feel so guilty…” 0

Amidst his cries of anguish, he finally let go of her hand. 0

Quan Qing didn’t know whether she was lucky or unfortunate. When Yan Lail pushed her off the rooftop, she thought she would surely die. Fortunately, she survived. Unfortunately, she was no longer herself. She had crossed over. 0

Her current name was Huang Zitong, a concubine of Chancellor Chu Mo from the Xi Chi Kingdom. Though called a concubine, she was merely a minor beauty. 0

According to her personal maid, Tracing Red, she had been in the palace for half a year but had never been summoned due to her poor health. Recently, her health had improved somewhat, and upon hearing that the emperor’s twenty-third birthday was approaching, she thought of performing a dance for him. 0

However, while practicing in the garden, she accidentally fell and hit her head, falling into a coma for seven days and nights. Although she missed the birthday banquet, at least she was alive. 0

Huang Zitong was not favored and lived in the relatively secluded Leng Xue Residence. This suited Quan Qing just fine; she had no time to engage in petty rivalries with the women in the palace. All she wanted was to return to the modern world and bring Yan Lail to justice for his despicable actions. Yet after thinking long and hard, she could not come up with a useful plan. 0
