Park Bucheng squinted, a hint of a cold smile playing at the corners of his mouth as he pushed open the door to the conference room at the Seoul Luxury Hotel.
A pungent mix of cigar smoke and cologne assaulted his nostrils.
He frowned slightly, scanning the room with an impassive expression.
At the large mahogany conference table sat several men in tailored suits, each with a serious demeanor.
Among them was a middle-aged man with slicked-back hair and a phony smile, the representative of June Group.
Park Bucheng saw through his facade instantly, thinking to himself, "Old fox."
"Mr. Park, it’s an honor to finally meet you," the June Group representative said as he stood up, extending his hand with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
"I’m flattered," Park Bucheng replied coolly, shaking his hand. The man's grip felt slimy, leaving him somewhat uncomfortable.
Once they were seated, the June Group representative got straight to the point. "Mr. Park, we all know that you and Li Zhenghao have joined forces to oppose Kim Byung Won and the Blood Wolf Gang."
Park Bucheng smiled noncommittally, picking up his coffee cup and taking a delicate sip.
"We at June Group are also deeply dissatisfied with Kim Byung Won and the Blood Wolf Gang's arrogant behavior," the representative continued. "Therefore, we are willing to cooperate with you."
"Cooperate?" Park Bucheng set down his coffee cup, looking at him with a half-smile. "Representative Li, the foundation of cooperation is mutual trust. Do you think we have that trust between us?"
The smile on the June Group representative's face faltered slightly; he understood what Park Bucheng was implying.
Park Bucheng had long since gained control over his father, the chairman of June Group.
This put him in a passive position at the negotiating table.
“Mr. Park, we are all intelligent people, and wise men do not speak in riddles,” the representative of June Group said, taking a deep breath. “We are willing to pay a sufficient price for your cooperation.”
“Oh? What price?” Park Bucheng asked with keen interest.
“We can provide funding, weapons, intelligence, and even…” the representative of June Group paused, “we can help you eliminate Kim Byung Won.”
Park Bucheng smiled, a cold smile. “Representative Li, do you think I’m foolish? Kim Byung Won is your competitor; eliminating him would benefit you the most. You’re trying to use me as a knife to kill him.”
The representative of June Group’s expression changed slightly; he hadn’t expected Park Bucheng to see through his intentions so easily.
“However…” Park Bucheng shifted his tone, “your proposal is not something I cannot accept.”
The representative of June Group felt a surge of hope and quickly asked, “What conditions does Mr. Park have?”
“I want thirty percent of June Group’s shares,” Park Bucheng stated boldly.
“What?!” The representative of June Group nearly jumped up. “That’s impossible!”
“Then there’s nothing to discuss,” Park Bucheng shrugged and pretended to walk away.
“Wait!” The representative of June Group hurriedly called him back. “We can negotiate.”
After intense bargaining, both parties finally reached an agreement: June Group would exchange twenty percent of its shares for cooperation with Tai Chi Gang.
Just as they were about to sign the agreement, the door to the conference room was suddenly burst open.
A tall man with an imposing presence strode in.
He was a skilled operative sent by the Chaebol, named Choi Je-han.
As Choi Je-han stepped inside, he immediately felt a powerful sense of oppression.
He scanned the room, his gaze finally landing on Park Bucheng.
"Are you Park Bucheng?" Choi Je-han asked coldly.
"That's me," Park Bucheng replied nonchalantly, a hint of wariness flashing in his eyes.
"I've heard you're quite formidable. I'd like to test that," Choi Je-han said, and in an instant, he lunged forward, throwing a punch aimed directly at Park Bucheng's face.
Park Bucheng was already on guard; he sidestepped just in time to evade the blow.
"Graceful Wave Steps!"
His feet shifted with fluidity, his form flickering like a ghost.
Choi Je-han's punch missed its target, and he was taken aback, not expecting Park Bucheng's movements to be so elusive.
He swung his fist again, the wind from his strike howling with lethal intent.
Park Bucheng dodged left and right, effortlessly avoiding the attacks.
"Six Meridians Divine Sword!"
Invisible sword qi shot from Park Bucheng's fingertips, aiming straight for Choi Je-han's vital points.
Choi Je-han's expression changed dramatically as he quickly gathered his energy to defend himself.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
The clash of sword energy and True Qi erupted with a series of explosive sounds.
The tables and chairs in the conference room were shattered to pieces.
The representative from June Group cowered beneath the table, trembling in fear.
Park Bucheng pressed forward relentlessly, while Choi Je-han retreated step by step.
"Dragon Subduing Eighteen Palms!"
With a thunderous shout, Park Bucheng unleashed both palms, sending a torrent of power that knocked Choi Je-han flying.
Choi Je-han crashed heavily to the ground, blood spilling from his mouth, severely injured.
"You..." Choi Je-han pointed at Park Bucheng, his eyes filled with resentment.
"You are too weak," Park Bucheng replied coldly.
Choi Je-han struggled to rise but found himself unable to continue the fight.
Park Bucheng approached him, looking down from above.
"Go back and tell your master to send someone stronger next time."
With that, Park Bucheng turned and left, leaving Choi Je-han lying alone amidst the ruins.
The representative from June Group crawled out from under the table, gazing at the devastated conference room in shock.
He never expected Park Bucheng to be so powerful that even the expert sent by the Chaebol was no match for him.
It seemed that his previous choice was the right one.
Collaborating with the Tai Chi Gang might be his only way out.
After leaving the hotel, Park Bucheng did not return to the Tai Chi Gang immediately.
He found a secluded corner and dialed a number.
“Hello, it’s me.”
“How is everything going?” A deep voice came from the other end of the line.
“It’s all set,” Park Bucheng replied. “The June Group has agreed to cooperate with us.”
“Great.” There was a hint of amusement in the voice on the other end. “Next, we need to deal with Kim Byung Won.”
“I already have a plan,” a glint of coldness flashed in Park Bucheng's eyes.
“Let’s hear it.”
“Although Kim Byung Won and the Blood Wolf Gang have joined forces, there’s a disconnect between them. We can exploit this to sow discord, turning them against each other and letting them tear themselves apart.”
“How exactly do you plan to do that?”
“We can…”
Park Bucheng detailed his plan thoroughly.
There was a moment of silence on the other end before the voice responded, “Your plan is good, but it carries significant risks.”
"I know," Park Bucheng said, "but high risks bring high rewards."
"Alright, I support you." The voice on the other end became resolute. "Go ahead and do it; I will cooperate fully."
"Thank you." Park Bucheng hung up the phone, a spark of confidence shining in his eyes.
He knew that a greater storm was about to arrive.
And he would be at the center of it.
Suddenly, he felt a shift behind him.
He turned sharply, but saw nothing.
Was it just an illusion?
He felt a twinge of doubt but did not let his guard down.
Slowly, he backed away, his hand already reaching for the dagger at his waist.
At that moment, a shadow fell from the sky, lunging toward him…
