Wang Zhan's pupils constricted. "What did you say?"
I pushed his hand away. "Wang Zhan, stop bothering me."
Wang Zhan shouted in frustration, "Man Jingfang, what right do you have to make decisions for me?"
"You know whether or not you've been bothering me."
I retorted, "And you know whether or not you've been pursuing Man Wenyu!"
Wang Zhan's anger flared, his veins bulging. "Man Jingfang, I haven't!"
I sneered coldly. "Wang Zhan, everyone knows about you and Man Wenyu."
"Do you really want me to spell it out for you?"
Wang Zhan stood there in shock. "What do you mean by me and Man Wenyu?"
I stepped closer and whispered in his ear, "Everyone is saying you've fallen for someone else and abandoned me, your loyal wife."
Wang Zhan suddenly grabbed my collar. "Man Jingfang!"
I met his gaze without fear. "Wang Zhan, there's no chance for us anymore."
He released his grip. "Fine, very well!"
"Man Jingfang, let me tell you, Man Wenyu and I are getting married."
He pulled out an invitation and shoved it into my hand. "This is the invitation."
"I hope you'll honor us with your presence at our wedding."
I looked down at the invitation in my hand.
It bore the names of Man Wenyu and Wang Zhan.
They were really getting married.
A sharp pain pierced my heart, but I forced a smile. "Sure, I'll definitely be there."
At the wedding venue, guests were everywhere, flowers blooming beautifully.
I sat in a corner wearing a qipao.
Watching the newlyweds exchange rings on stage, my heart twisted in pain with each passing moment.
I rubbed my chest, hoping to alleviate the ache.
But it was futile.
Finally, I stood up and quietly left.
Just as I reached the door, someone stopped me.
It was Wang Zhan.
He stood before me in a sharp suit, asking, "Man Jingfang, are you trying to run away?"
I stared at him blankly. "I just felt a bit stuffy and wanted to get some fresh air."
Wang Zhan frowned slightly. "Aren't you cold dressed like that?"
He took off his jacket and draped it over my shoulders.
I opened my mouth to say something but was interrupted.
Man Wenyu approached us in her pure white wedding dress.
She affectionately linked her arm with Wang Zhan's.
The sight of the three of us standing together was particularly harmonious.
Wang Zhan looked at Man Wenyu tenderly. "Shall we go hold the ceremony?"
Man Wenyu smiled sweetly. "Sure."
The two walked side by side toward the center of the stage.
I felt like a joke.
Just moments ago, Wang Zhan had clearly intended to humiliate me!
He knew today was his wedding with Man Wenyu and still chose to put his jacket on me.
Now Man Wenyu was affectionately linking arms with him.
Everyone would think I was the third party meddling in their relationship!
I regretted not leaving earlier.
Now, Man Wenyu has walked over.
If I leave now, it would seem a bit too deliberate.
I have no choice but to brace myself and stay.
The officiant asks Wang Zhan if he is willing to take Man Wenyu as his wife.
He answers passionately, "I do!"
The officiant then asks Man Wenyu if she is willing to marry Wang Zhan.
She shyly replies, "I do!"
The officiant announces that the ceremony is complete, and they share a kiss!
Guests around us applaud and bless the newlyweds.
But my heart aches more and more.
It feels like it might stop beating at any moment.
I force myself to stand up and leave.
Just as I reach the door, someone stops me.
It's Man Wenyu.
She stands at the entrance in her wedding dress.
Her smile is bright and enchanting.
Yet there’s a hint of provocation in her eyes: "Man Jingfang, why are you in such a hurry to leave?"
