Mother Chen Haotian beamed with joy.
She turned to Chen Haotian, "Haotian, quickly serve some food to Xiao Ran!"
Chen Haotian smiled helplessly, "Mom, she has her own hands."
Mother Chen Haotian shot him a glare, "Just serve her!"
Chen Haotian had no choice but to serve me a piece of Braised Pork, "Dear, eat more."
I couldn't help but laugh.
Mother Chen Haotian laughed as well.
I stole a glance at Father Chen Haotian.
His face showed no expression; he simply watched us quietly.
I couldn't help but feel a bit nervous.
Chen Haotian held my hand and comforted me, "Don't be afraid."
I nodded, "Mm."
I was filled with confusion.
Why was Father Chen Haotian so serious?
Did he not like me?
Thinking of this made me even more anxious.
I carefully ate my meal, not daring to speak.
Mother Chen Haotian kept serving me food.

After the meal, Father Chen Haotian called me into his study.
He sat at his desk, looking at me coldly, "Shi Ran, when did you and Haotian get together?"

Chen Haotian's father continued to chat with me about other matters, asking about my family background, and I answered truthfully. In the end, he told me that since I was already married to Chen Haotian, I should focus on living well together.
I breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed like he approved! This made me very happy!
After leaving the study, Chen Haotian's mother called me into the living room.
She took out a box and handed it to me. "Xiao Ran, this is a welcome gift for you."
I looked at her in confusion. "Auntie, what is this?"
Mother Chen Haotian smiled as she opened the box. "It's a bracelet."
I was surprised to see the bracelet inside the box. It looked very expensive!
I waved my hands in embarrassment. "Auntie, I can't accept this!"
Mother Chen Haotian's expression turned serious. "You must take it!"
"This is a welcome gift from me! You can't refuse!"
Reluctantly, I accepted the precious bracelet, feeling particularly grateful. I never expected Mother Chen Haotian would give me such an extravagant gift!
The next day, I wore the bracelet to work. My colleagues looked at me with curious eyes.
Lin Huirong leaned over and asked, "Shi Ran, did the general manager come looking for you yesterday?"
I replied nonchalantly, "Yeah."
Lin Huirong pressed on, "Did he take you home?"
I frowned impatiently. "That's none of your business!"
Lin Huirong huffed in annoyance. "Shi Ran, why are you acting so high and mighty?"
"It's just being taken home by the general manager. What's the big deal?"
I couldn't be bothered to respond further and walked straight into the office.
