The soft sensation on my lips lingered for just a moment, yet that fleeting instant was enough to leave a deep imprint in my mind. I stood there, dazed and isolated from the world, as the scene of Ouyang Zhirou kissing me replayed endlessly in my thoughts.
Hu Yao gaped at the spectacle before him; rather than shock, his expression was filled with a mix of anger and concern for his brother, worried about how he was faring while simultaneously fearing he might be enjoying himself too much. Lin Mu Xi, on the other hand, rushed forward like a whirlwind.
Ouyang Zhirou smacked her lips as if recalling what had just happened, then smiled faintly and declared, "My fiancé will always be mine!" With that, she fled the scene, leaving Lin Mu Xi to lunge at thin air.
Not finding Ouyang Zhirou, Lin Mu Xi turned back to grab a piece of paper from the table. She hurried over to me, wiping my mouth with the paper while scolding me in a voice tinged with tears. "What are you doing? What are you doing?!"
At that moment, aboard a private jet flying from Guangdong Province to Hubei's Lake City, a stunning young woman held a glass of red wine. On the table lay a photo of me, and she sneered at it as she said, "Zhao Changsheng's son, Zhao Lun? You've finally found the courage to face me. I've waited years for this." With that, she downed her glass of wine and turned to a man beside her. "Go! Gather all your connections in Lake City for me. I want to meet them."
Unbeknownst to me, a storm was brewing on the horizon while I remained lost in the memory of Ouyang Zhirou's kiss. Lin Mu Xi observed my dazed expression; she could probably bite through steel if it were in front of her at that moment.
Hu Yao stormed off in anger. "What am I still doing here? Haven't I had enough of this dog food?"
"That Zhao Lun—"
"Huh? What?" I stammered, caught off guard by three consecutive questions that snapped me back to reality.
Lin Mu Xi was taking deep breaths, her face transitioning from slightly flushed to completely red. It seemed she had made some sort of resolution. "Come here a bit; I need to tell you something."
For some reason, I felt no aversion toward Lin Mu Xi at that moment. If it were because she had informed me about Wang Ju'en's intentions toward me, then my attitude toward her would have drastically changed—clearly nonsense.
If you asked me to explain why I felt this way now, I couldn't articulate it. Yet here I was, genuinely feeling no resentment; in fact, our bond felt even more harmonious than when we were dating.
"Oh," I nodded and walked over to her. "Is it something important?"
To my surprise, she looked up and kissed me again.
In just one hour, I had been kissed twice by two different girls. Not only was I a novice in romance; even seasoned lovers would struggle to handle such an experience.
I widened my eyes as I watched Lin Mu Xi with her eyes closed tightly; her breathing was rapid and her body trembled slightly. Little did I know that her next move would plunge my life into an endless cycle of chaos.
She directly thrust her tongue into my mouth, and in that fleeting moment, I felt it clearly. When her tongue withdrew, it seemed to take her entire being with it.
I saw her standing there, gazing at me with deep affection. "Zhao Lun," you might doubt my intentions, but I can seriously tell you now that I like you. You have already penetrated my heart, and I will not back down, even if you are already engaged.
After saying this, she walked away with a triumphant expression, leaving me alone on the second floor of the milk tea shop.
I sat there in a daze for half an hour before a roar erupted from within me. "No! What are you two doing? Both of you are acting like this—have you both gone mad?"
I couldn't understand what they were up to. One had kissed me out of the blue, and when the other saw it, she wasn't going to back down either; she kissed me too and even extended her tongue!
I cursed them both, but instinctively I licked my lips, trying to savor the lingering warmth. Hey, it was actually quite sweet.
As the matter settled and I brushed off my clothes, Ouyang Zhirou sat curled up in the car. Even after half an hour, the blush on her face had yet to fade, resembling a little obedient kitten.
The driver had never seen the young lady of his household like this before. "Miss, what’s wrong with you?"
"Uncle Xie," she said, "what does it mean when someone suddenly appears in your mind? You think about him when you sleep, think about him when you eat—does that mean you've fallen for him?"
As a driver for such a large corporation in the Underworld, he was certainly someone to be trusted.
Hearing his young lady say such things made Uncle Xie suspect that she had been led astray by some young scoundrel. After all, her father usually doted on her and would never scold or hit her; if he found out, he would surely skin that boy alive.
Moreover, he had watched her grow up like his own daughter. If he found out who that boy was, he would go after him and hand him over to Ouyang Xiong!
"Miss, may I ask who this person is?"
"Who else could it be? It's Zhao Lun. He’s just average-looking—nothing special really—but he’s not bad to look at. His temper is quite poor; just tease him a little and he gets angry. What’s so strange about me thinking of him?"
Ouyang Zhirou babbled on, her words somewhat disjointed. But to Uncle Xie, they sounded completely unrelated.
"Zhao Changsheng’s son has taken away our young lady! If it were an ordinary person, he could handle it, but since it's Zhao Changsheng’s son, he wouldn't dare touch him; he could only report it to Ouyang Xiong for resolution."
"Miss, didn’t you say you disliked that boy? Why is it different now? Last time at the banquet he was quite rude."
"Oh please, Uncle Xie, you're so annoying! I'm not talking to you anymore!"
Ouyang Zhirou abruptly ended the topic and then recalled the events of that day’s banquet, Zhao Lun's figure becoming increasingly vivid in her mind. She remembered how, as a little girl, her personality had been quite innocent, but everything changed that year.
