"Attention all classes in Senior Three, please prepare to enter the field. The football match at Lake City High School is about to begin!" 0

As the school's announcement echoed through the air, the curtain was lifted on this much-anticipated football match. 0

By a stroke of bad luck, our class was drawn against the Physical Education Class. While we might have been able to outshine them academically, when it came to football, even two of us playing together couldn't match their skills. 0

Just as we finished changing into our uniforms and were ready to step onto the field, the members of the Physical Education Class marched past us in a group, one of them even flipping me off! 0

That was Zhang Weijie, who had provoked me more than once. Normally, I couldn't be bothered to engage with him, but after enduring his taunts for days and reflecting on my own mindset and character, I had undergone a significant transformation. 0

I gathered my classmates around me, and we all focused our attention on Zhang Weijie. "Let’s take him down hard!" I urged. 0

Everyone understood my intent; they knew about my rivalry with Zhang Weijie, which stemmed from his pursuit of Lin Mu Xi—he had been trying for ages without success while I managed to win her over in just a week. In his mind, he believed I relied solely on my family's background and thought that without it, I was nothing. That was why he kept provoking me. 0

But now, I was done with being passive. Sometimes, excessive tolerance only makes bullies feel empowered. It was time to turn the tables and deliver a solid slap back! 0

My strategic plan was met with unanimous approval from my classmates as we shouted in unison and charged onto the field. 0

Zhang Weijie's approach mirrored mine—he rallied his teammates to focus solely on me while he aimed to take me down himself. 0

The match officially began with both classes prepared for a rough game! The whistle blew. 0

First possession went to us; Hu Yao quickly seized the ball thanks to his height advantage and charged towards their inner line. "Zhao Lun! Hurry up and get ready for the pass!" 0

Hearing Hu Yao's call, I immediately accelerated ahead of him into the inner line, preparing to receive his pass. 0

As I sprinted towards the inner line, Zhang Weijie shadowed me closely, determined to mark me tightly! 0

"Zhao Lun, be careful! The ball doesn't have eyes; if it accidentally hits your precious body, don't come crying!" 0

"Ha! You should worry about yourself!" 0

Hu Yao soon joined me in the inner line but saw that all our teammates were being tightly marked by the Physical Education Class with no chance for a pass or shot on goal. If it were basketball, it might have been easier; but with football, he felt completely out of his depth. 0

Just as Hu Yao hesitated, one of the Physical Education Class players slid in to snatch the ball away from him. If they succeeded in taking it from him now, defending would become much more difficult; aside from the goalkeeper, all our other players had followed up as well. 0

He recalled what I had said about targeting Zhang Weijie! He couldn't do it himself now, but if the ball hit him, it wouldn't count as targeting, right? 0

Without hesitation, he lifted his foot and aimed a powerful kick at Zhang Weijie! Aiming for a specific part was definitely not feasible, but if he aimed at the whole person, he might still have a chance to hit. 0

The ball arced through the air with great momentum, heading straight for me and Zhang Weijie. 0

“Zhao Lun!!! Back off!” 0

I heard Hu Yao's voice and immediately took two steps back. Zhang Weijie jumped up, ready to head the ball just as it was about to connect with his forehead. 0

With a loud smack, the ball struck him right in the face, causing him to clutch his face and fall to the ground. 0

I whistled as I walked away, not forgetting to taunt him with a remark: “Oh dear, not only are you short, but your eyesight is terrible too!” 0

Hearing this, Zhang Weijie, ignoring the pain on his face, rushed over to the referee. “He kicked the ball at me maliciously! It’s a foul!” 0

“No foul,” the referee replied. “He kicked the ball, but it wasn’t aimed at you. It hit you after you jumped.” 0

Hu Yao and I listened to the referee’s explanation and immediately burst into laughter, linking arms as we did. 0

“Look at that! He couldn’t catch the ball and still blames us for fouling!” 0

“Exactly! Just because he’s short and got hit by the ball doesn’t mean it’s our fault!” 0
