In order to cultivate the willpower of the team members under complex conditions, we chose a summer day for our training in Chongqing, known as the furnace of China. The summer heat in Chongqing is well-known, with high temperatures being the norm. 0

We organized a core group of team members and brought plenty of equipment, planning to traverse entirely through wild mountain paths from dawn until sunset. 0

At dawn, as the sky began to lighten with a faint glow, a layer of mist enveloped the earth like a delicate veil. At the foot of the mountain, a group had already gathered early. Each person was spirited and their eyes sparkled with anticipation and nervousness. 0

The team quickly and orderly conducted a thorough check of their gear. Their backpacks were filled with essential items: water bottles, food, maps, compasses, first aid kits, and more. Everyone carefully verified their belongings to ensure that no important items were left behind. 0

Once all preparations were complete, the team officially set off on this challenging journey. It was called a test because they would encounter numerous difficulties along the way. Every aspect required their full effort to tackle. However, faced with these known challenges, the team members did not flinch; instead, they pressed forward with unwavering determination. 0

In the early morning hours, before the sun had fully risen, I began this journey with a light step. The initial stretch of the path felt quite comfortable for my body. According to our pre-established training plan, we chose not to take smooth roads but rather winding trails that were often less traveled or even unmarked. The entire team moved like a long dragon, neatly lined up in a single file as we slowly ascended. I took on the role of bringing up the rear. 0

Time passed quietly; only an hour had gone by when I suddenly noticed that the pace of the team had noticeably slowed down. A hint of confusion arose in my mind, so I looked ahead and saw a dense forest looming before us. The trees intertwined with each other, forming a natural barrier that blocked our path. 0

At this moment, leading the way was a female team member. She was agile and physically fit, frequently participating in marathons held in various cities and often engaging in climbing activities during her free time. Faced with this dense forest, she led everyone forward without hesitation, demonstrating extraordinary courage and perseverance. 0

As we continued along the winding mountain path surrounded by lush greenery and the continuous sound of birdsong, suddenly there came a piercing scream! This unexpected sound made everyone's hearts race; several teammates ahead turned pale and frantically ran back towards us. 0

My heart leaped into my throat as I shouted loudly: "What happened?" One teammate gasped for breath and replied: "There’s a big snake up ahead!" Hearing this made my heart skip a beat, but I forced myself to remain calm and quickly ran toward the scene. 0

As I approached and focused my gaze, I was taken aback! There lay a thick snake coiled in the middle of the path, its body measuring two to three meters long and completely black as ink. Upon closer inspection, I suspected it might be a Black-Striped Snake. Although it typically does not attack humans unless provoked, its massive size was still intimidating. 0

I hurriedly waved my hand to signal everyone to back away quickly while retrieving my trekking pole from my backpack. Cautiously approaching the snake, I intended to drive it away. However, just as I took a few steps forward, it seemed to sense danger; it suddenly shook its body and darted into the bushes like lightning, disappearing without a trace. 0

Seeing this scene allowed everyone’s tense hearts to finally relax. However, after such a scare, some teammates still appeared shaken and anxious. Taking a deep breath to steady myself, I smiled reassuringly at them: "Don’t worry; that was just a non-venomous snake and won’t pose much threat to us. From now on, I'll lead the way; you all can follow behind comfortably." After hearing my words, their expressions gradually relaxed as we continued moving forward. 0

Thus, I took on the role of leading from the front as we navigated through challenging terrain. The path ahead was extremely steep with weeds growing wildly on either side; thick bushes nearly obscured our route entirely. Each step forward required careful maneuvering around thorny branches to avoid getting scratched. 0

Awaiting us ahead was an exposed hillside. Although its height wasn’t particularly daunting, its steep incline was intimidating. To make matters worse, at that moment the sun hung high in the sky; its scorching rays mercilessly poured down upon us as if trying to evaporate every drop of moisture from our bodies. Climbing such a slope was undoubtedly a significant test of endurance. 0

I gritted my teeth and used both hands and feet to climb upward with great difficulty. Sweat had already soaked through my clothes and streamed down my forehead, blurring my vision. However, I dared not slacken my pace; one thought consumed me: I must lead everyone over this hill! 0

Finally, after tremendous effort, I reached the top of the slope. Just as I prepared to take a breath of relief, I noticed that one team member appeared unwell. His face was pale; beads of sweat rolled down like rain drops while he breathed heavily as if he were gasping for air. Seeing this made my heart race again; I feared he might suffer from heatstroke or dehydration. 0

I quickly scanned around for any shaded area where he could rest. Fortunately, not far away stood a large tree whose lush branches formed natural shade. I rushed under it and pulled out a bottle of Huo Xiang Zheng Qi Shui and another bottle of mineral water from my backpack before hurrying back to his side. 0
