Every so often, or during important holidays, we organize team-building activities. The costs are generally covered, and we usually choose outdoor locations where fewer people can also enjoy some technical play. Each time we plan a team-building event, everyone always shows exceptional enthusiasm and excitement. Almost everyone meticulously prepares their own gear, and some even bring along shared professional equipment for the team. The variety of gear is astonishing, including ropes for climbing and rescue, water rescue equipment, and machinery suitable for navigating complex terrains. To our surprise, there are even specialized outdoor cooking tools like portable pots and pans, as if we were turning this team-building event into a grand outdoor adventure.
To cater to everyone's interests and needs as much as possible, we typically select a spacious area near a lake for the activity. This way, we can enjoy the beautiful scenery while having enough room for everyone to showcase their skills.
Upon finally arriving at our destination, we don't immediately dive into fun and games; instead, we methodically complete various preparatory tasks. Some friends take on the responsibility of digging the fire pit, wielding shovels to create suitable holes in the ground. Others run around collecting firewood and soon gather piles of dry twigs and logs. At this moment, one guy steps forward, volunteering that he had spent a few days in the cooking team during his military service. With confidence, he declares that he will build a magical smokeless stove for everyone. He rolls up his sleeves and focuses intently on arranging bricks and dirt. After much effort, the smokeless stove finally takes shape. However, when he lights the fire to test it out, an unexpected situation arises—thick smoke billows up like a Black Dragon soaring in the air. The pungent smoke rushes towards us, nearly choking us all!
Speaking of characters, there's this one guy who is incredibly cheerful; he’s always laughing and joking with everyone. However, despite his well-prepared gear, his skills leave much to be desired—one could say they are quite pitiful. Nevertheless, he is passionately enthusiastic about participating in activities; he embodies the typical type who is both inexperienced yet eager to play. Moreover, he seems to possess an unfounded confidence, always believing he is exceptionally skilled.
One day, as the sky darkened ominously suggesting rain was imminent, we asked him to quickly fetch a tarp and specifically instructed him to tie several sturdy knots to secure it well. He listened attentively and happily dashed off without saying a word. After quite a while, we finally spotted him returning. We hurriedly asked him if he had managed to get the tarp sorted out. He patted his chest with great gusto and replied boisterously, “Absolutely! You can rest assured about what I’ve done!” Hearing this made us feel at ease as we settled under the tarp to continue our conversation.
