Yu Chunmiao also took some snacks that Lu Ziyou had sent for Zeng Granny to take back. She speculated that this child must be her grandson or granddaughter. An elderly person with a child likely had their own share of troubles with their children.
Qi Yuan went to see Zeng Granny off while Chen Ruolan went to prepare lunch.
Yu Chunmiao brought over some Bone Paste to bandage Qi Chong's injury. Qi Chong pitifully said, "Can we wait a bit longer to bandage it? My leg is still sore; if you don’t believe me, compare it with your leg."
Seeing the look in his eyes, Yu Chunmiao understood that he only felt comfortable showing his vulnerability in front of her. In front of outsiders, he either appeared fearful or spoke politely. Compared to someone like Yang Zhengshan, he looked quite fierce.
He was suffering from a long absence of sunlight, and Yu Chunmiao decided to let him be, saying they would bandage it after his bath in the evening.

With that cheerful decision made, Yu Chunmiao began to have new thoughts. That evening, while bandaging Qi Chong's injury in their room, she shared her ideas with him.
The business of selling Xian Cao Mi would only last until September. With no land to cultivate at home, why not move the whole family to the county or town? They could keep the old house and return every summer to continue the Xian Cao Mi business. After all, there is plenty of Xian Cao in the countryside to meet demand.
Qi Chong felt disheartened about this place, but she worried that her mother would be unwilling to leave. This was where she and Qi Fu had built their memories. After Qi Fu's death, she had lived for a long time on those memories alone.

Just as Yu Chunmiao got up, she felt a tightening around her waist as Qi Chong sat on her lap.
"Qing Niangzi, I've been thinking," Qi Chong said.
"When do you ever not think?"
Yu Chunmiao cupped Qi Chong's face and gave him a light peck. "You need to get up early; don’t stay up too late. Otherwise, I’ll punish you by going to sleep with my mother."
"Alright, I’ll listen to you!"
