As the two of them were on the film set, they caught sight of Zhao Fei, exchanged glances, and instinctively walked away.
"Did Wang Wenya tell you who Zhao Fei is?" Li Hao asked, concerned that Zhao Fei might cling to Lin Xiao again.
"She mentioned that Zhao Fei is her cousin," Lin Xiao replied.
Zhao Fei's father is Xu Jianyun, and Lin Qi is a well-known socialite in Beijing. When they first met, Zhao Fei and Lin Qi were just emerging into society, both young and beautiful, yet Zhao Fei willingly became the fourth concubine of Xu Jianyun, even though polygamy is not recognized in mainland China.
With various conflicts arising in large families, Zhao Fei returned to her maternal home. She took on the surname of her mother and settled in Beijing, so few people knew that she was the daughter of Xu Jianyun.
During the filming of this television drama, when funding became tight, the Xu family increased their investment.
Lin Xiao suddenly realized that only such a powerful family background could allow her to be so carefree.
As they spoke, the scene came to an end. Li Hao led Lin Xiao to the resting area, where Lin Xiao was surprised to see a big star in person.
"Li Teacher, this is my partner," Li Hao introduced.
"Lin Xiao, right?" Li Dao greeted Lin Xiao warmly. "Li Hao has mentioned you."
Lin Xiao smiled politely and said, "Hello, Li Teacher. I particularly admire your portrayal of imperial characters; I watched 'Zhenguan's Reign' twice."
Li Dao graciously accepted Lin Xiao's compliment and chatted with her for a while about her work.
"I heard there's a scenic spot in Gengwei Town with an Emerald Lake surrounded by lush bamboo; it sounds beautiful," he remarked.
The makeup artist was removing Li Dao's makeup and costume.
"Yes, Li Teacher! If you have the chance to visit Gengwei Town, I can show you around. At the foot of Cui Ping Mountain, there's a charming inn with ethnic characteristics—it's quaint and perfect for relaxation," Lin Xiao said proudly when mentioning Gengwei Town.
"Once this drama wraps up, I'll bring He Dong over to see if your location is suitable for filming," Li Dao replied.
Lin Xiao was quite surprised by this news; if renowned director He Dong chose Cui Ping Scenic Area for filming, it would be the best advertisement for it.
Seeing that their conversation was winding down, Li Hao took Lin Xiao away from Li Dao's lounge.
"This is why you brought me here, isn't it?" Lin Xiao said as she wrapped her arms around Li Hao's arm and spoke tenderly. "Thank you."
"How do you plan to thank me?" Li Hao could see that Lin Xiao was genuinely happy. Once they left the resting area, Lin Xiao began to murmur about how to develop the scenic area in a way that met Li Dao's expectations.
Lin Xiao pulled him close, standing on tiptoe to kiss him. After the passionate afternoon, their emotions had settled significantly, no longer so intense.
Li Hao wrapped his arms around Lin Xiao's waist and gently kissed him, both of them lost in the moment.
"Ah, there you are! I was looking for you two. Hiding away here, stealing kisses!" Zhao Fei exclaimed, covering her eyes with one hand while peeking through her fingers, pretending to be shy. However, her mischievous eyes betrayed her true feelings.
Li Hao held Lin Xiao tightly and spoke with a hint of coldness, "What are you doing here?"
"I'm not here for you this time, Li Hao. Don't get the wrong idea," Zhao Fei replied. "I'm actually quite upset about your little prank with your cousin. And don't bother me and Li Hao; we have no interest in playing with you."
Lin Xiao had calmed down and stood up straight before speaking seriously, "I know I was wrong. I'm here to apologize."
As she said this, Zhao Fei handed Lin Xiao a small velvet red box.
"I don't want your gift; let's end things here," Lin Xiao said as she took Li Hao's hand, preparing to leave.
"If you refuse my gift, it means you haven't forgiven me. I still want to take you out for dinner," Zhao Fei insisted, still dressed in her ancient costume, looking quite out of place with her spoiled demeanor.
"I don’t want your gift or your dinner. If you think I haven’t forgiven you, then fine; I won’t forgive you," Lin Xiao said, genuinely angry this time. It was understandable for a girl not yet twenty to be led astray by Wang Wenya into doing something inappropriate, but her current stubbornness was truly off-putting.
Perhaps Lin Xiao's words were too harsh or maybe Zhao Fei found it uninteresting; she decided to chase after them again.
