Li Hao watched Lin Xiao's small movements and realized she had misunderstood him. Unable to hold back a laugh, he said, "Your thoughts are slipping. If you’re not tired, I’ll show you something."
He got out of bed and went to the study, returning with a stack of papers which he handed to Lin Xiao.
"Did you write this?" she asked.
During his doctoral studies, Li Hao had written a historical drama that was turned into a low-budget film by a novice director. It hadn’t made much of an impact in the market. Now that he had some free time, he revisited the script for "Zhou Wenwang," making revisions. After all, he couldn’t let his wife be the sole breadwinner.
The once novice director had now become a well-known filmmaker. Just yesterday morning, Li Hao sent the script over, and the director was quite pleased, ready to make an offer to buy it.
"Once you finish your busy schedule, come with me to Beijing. I’ll chat with Chen Dao and introduce you to some of my friends. I have a brother who just returned from military service; I owe him a lot for helping me out with things."
Li Hao didn’t dare mention that if it hadn’t been for Fang Shuoyan arranging for someone to get him to the hospital in time, he wouldn’t be living this happy life now.
"Okay," Lin Xiao replied, feeling relieved that Li Hao had found something meaningful to do. She hoped that neither of them would have to sacrifice for the other and that all decisions would come from their true feelings.
