Kuiradi showed no hesitation or compassion as he led his soldiers, forcefully storming into one tent after another. Each time he entered a tent, he would shout at the sleeping soldiers inside, "Get up right now! We have an urgent mission to attend to!"
If he encountered any dazed soldiers who were still trying to comprehend the situation, Kuiradi would not waste a word. Instead, he would raise his whip and strike them hard. The sharp crack of the whip cut through the air, instantly jolting the confused soldiers awake as if they had been electrocuted. They scrambled out of bed in a panic, barely having time to put on their clothes before rushing outside under the guidance of their respective squad leaders.
At that moment, John stood high on a makeshift platform, surveying the training ground below. However, the disorganized and undisciplined sight of the troops was unbearable for him. These so-called soldiers were poorly dressed, yawning incessantly, and some were even rubbing their sleepy eyes while trying to gather themselves. There was no trace of the imposing presence that soldiers should have.
Seeing this scene made John's face turn a deep shade of anger, veins bulging on his forehead as he silently cursed: This group of useless fools is truly outrageous!
He suppressed his fury and waited for everyone to line up properly before Kuiradi approached him.
Kuiradi held his whip tightly in hand, still stained with fresh blood that had not yet dried, exuding a pungent metallic scent. His expression was grim as he stepped firmly towards John. After a slight bow, he began to report the situation: "My lord, after careful inspection, I found that this unit is short at least three thousand men compared to its authorized strength! Shockingly, most of the officers are absent from their posts. Currently, the highest-ranking officer here is merely a Captain. As for the Legion Commander who should be stationed here, it seems he has long since slipped away home."
Upon hearing this news, John's eyes widened in disbelief, his face filled with shock. He never imagined that the Eastern Camp he was responsible for should have a full complement of ten thousand soldiers but now faced a staggering shortfall of at least three thousand! If one counted those who were unqualified and merely taking up space, it would be difficult to even gather half that number. As this realization dawned on him, anger surged within him.
How infuriating! Such a severe shortage of personnel! John gritted his teeth and said angrily, "No matter how many men are actually missing, immediately bring our troops and dismiss all officers for investigation! From now on, all positions will be filled by our people. Then we will commence a thorough screening process; any soldier who does not meet the standards must be expelled from this unit!"
"Understood!" Kuiradi accepted the order without hesitation and turned to lead a team of well-trained personal guards into action. They surged into the crowd like a whirlwind, beginning this arduous yet crucial task.
John stood above, watching as his guards busily carried out their orders below. His gaze was sharp as an eagle's, closely monitoring every action and performance. He would not tolerate these unqualified individuals continuing to linger in the army. Just recently, the king had conveyed through private correspondence a clear directive that this military unit must undergo thorough reorganization and rectification to create a truly elite force.
