Through the gaps in the iron door, a series of terrifying cracks began to emerge, resembling the gaping maw of a demon, as if it were only a matter of moments before the entire door would completely collapse.
Finally, as the swirling smoke gradually dissipated, John tightly covered his mouth and nose, then suddenly pushed forward with all his strength. With a dull thud, the seemingly indestructible door crumpled like paper and crashed to the ground, sending up a cloud of dust.
John slowly turned around, his gaze locking onto Kuiradi, a triumphant smile spreading across his face. He grinned and said mockingly, "Hey, you really need to start using your brain! Look at this! This is the power of wisdom!"
In response to John's boastful display, Kuiradi couldn't help but mutter to himself. He pondered, "What about when I smashed my fists against the iron door? Wasn't that also a manifestation of wisdom? After all, as the saying goes, one should win people over with virtue! Didn't you once say that martial virtue is also a form of virtue?"
Stepping onto the remnants of the iron door, he tossed out the Candlelight Doll to illuminate their surroundings.
The Candlelight Doll could freely follow its master and help illuminate the area, consuming one pound of oil every hour. (After ten years of drawing from it, the protagonist must have accumulated a pile of treasures.)
As he stepped inside, a suffocating sensation washed over him—not due to any supernatural event but rather from the lack of oxygen after such a long time without ventilation (who knows if there’s even oxygen in this other world). In any case, there was too little breathable air, so John retreated.
Half an hour later, guided by the light of the Candlelight Doll, Kuiradi led most of their group down into the tunnel with John following behind.
Kuiradi thought to himself: "Every day they talk about me; when there's danger, I'm always the first one in front. Lord John, you really are something else. Ugh, this job is getting harder and harder."
The tunnel was low enough for a person to stand upright and about three meters wide. It sloped gently downward as they walked forward. Every thirty meters or so, there was an oil lamp; whenever Candlelight Doll spotted one, it would automatically add its stored oil and light it up to ensure their path remained bright.
After walking several hundred meters and watching Candlelight Doll light up ten or so lamps in succession, they finally arrived at an underground structure resembling a tomb.
