When Ye Xingchen stepped into the seemingly ordinary attic, he was astonished to discover that it was actually a vast and boundless little world. From the outside, it appeared to be just a lonely loft, but inside, it concealed lands as expansive as those in Tianfeng County.
For Ye Xingchen, a traveler from another realm, encountering secret realms was nothing new, so he quickly calmed his emotions. This scene drew quiet admiration from the nearby Ma Yi Elder.
"May I ask why you summoned me here?" Ye Xingchen inquired, cupping his hands in respect. He looked around and saw that the architecture of the Wanjian Sect was grand and imposing, yet he couldn't help but wonder why such a magnificent sect had fallen into disrepair.
Upon hearing this, Ma Yi Elder sighed and replied slowly, "It's a long story. Has the Otherworld ever invaded our Tian Yuan Continent?"
Ye Xingchen hesitated at this question. Although his cultivation had reached the peak of Emperor level, he felt like a mere drop in the ocean compared to the vastness of the Tian Yuan Continent. Unsure of how to respond, he fell silent.
Seeing Ye Xingchen's ignorance of the situation, Ma Yi Elder felt slightly relieved. It seemed that since the days when Zhongzhi City repelled the Otherworld, there had indeed been further incursions.
"What is the Otherworld?" Ye Xingchen asked curiously.
Ma Yi Elder pondered for a moment before explaining, "The Otherworld is actually similar to the Tian Yuan Continent; it is also a Medium World. It possesses its own Martial Arts Heritage, but it is entirely different from ours."
Ye Xingchen furrowed his brow at this revelation. "What is a Medium World? Why does the Otherworld want to invade us?"
Ma Yi Elder sighed again and said, "The highest combat power in a Medium World does not exceed Saint level, while mid-sized worlds do not surpass Heavenly Emperor level. As for Large Worlds, we are still far from that. Your cultivation is too low; knowing too much may not be beneficial."
He continued regarding why the Otherworld sought to invade them: "It is simply the trend of events. A Medium World must conquer three other Medium Worlds and obtain their core to ascend to Large World status. The Otherworld has its sights set on our Tian Yuan Continent for its potential and resources."
Ye Xingchen was deeply shocked by this information. He had never considered that the world he inhabited faced such a severe trial. He understood that although his cultivation was formidable, it still seemed insignificant in light of such a grand scheme.
With a grave expression, Ye Xingchen asked, "Did you fall in battle against the Otherworld?"
At this question, a glimmer of nostalgia flickered in Ma Yi Elder's eyes as if he were transported back to those tumultuous times. He nodded slowly, his voice low and filled with sorrow.
Hearing this, Ye Xingchen felt a surge of respect for this elder who had endured so much.
Taking a deep breath, Ma Yi Elder continued, "I am Shen Dongliu. I once stood at the Pinnacle Saint Realm, just one step away from entering Zhun Emperor Realm. However, time waits for no one; when the Otherworld invaded back then, the entire Tian Yuan Continent fell into unprecedented peril."
