"Are they all okay?" Huo Jingyu asked, a hint of worry in his voice. "Feng Xing's hypnosis might have left them dazed."
"They're fine!"
"Let's get out of here!"
"How are you getting back?"
"Our car is parked up front. Are you planning to stay here?"
"We need to stay to prevent any misunderstandings!"
"Well, you all have it tough!"
"It's not hard at all!" Several firefighters smiled sincerely.
After bidding farewell, Yan Kongyue and the others quickly disappeared into the heavy rain. When they reappeared, they were already driving into town.
There was only one inn in town, and the conditions weren't great. The entire crew was staying there, and Lin Lang was worried about whether there would be any available rooms.
"Then let's just leave, Fourth Brother. Do you still need to stay with the crew?"
"I'll call the director. I shouldn't need to stay; the filming time has passed, and Xiao Lin Village is flooded. Even if we needed to shoot, we’d have to find another location!"
After saying this, Lin Lang dialed the director's number. Once he confirmed that they wouldn't be returning to the crew, they left Linshui Town directly.
"We're just a kilometer away from Yubei City!" Lin Qian glanced at the dark sky, feeling an uneasy sensation in her heart.
"Let’s hold on a bit longer and rest together!" Huo Jingyu looked back at the three people in the backseat who were sound asleep.
"Doesn't it feel a bit different here?" Lin Qian had run over two hundred kilometers without feeling tired, continuously channeling her inner energy for a day and night.
"Yeah, something feels off. Should we wake Yan Kongyue?"
"Damn, it's so foggy!" As they turned a corner, the business vehicle plunged into thick fog.
Lin Qian slammed on the brakes, and the passengers in the back were jolted forward by inertia. Fortunately, none of them were ordinary people; they didn't get shoved under their seats.
"Where are we?" Lin Lang asked as he regained his senses after being jolted.
"I don't know; we were just on the highway! We turned a corner and ended up here!" Huo Jingyu replied as Lin Qian had already gotten out of the car.
Then Yan Kongyue and Feng Xing followed suit.
"Isn't this like stepping into a spider's lair?" Feng Xing raised an eyebrow.
"Little brat, what are you thinking?" Yan Kongyue waved her hand to disperse the swirling mist, but the white fog merely shifted slightly before returning to its original state.
"Lin Qian, come back!" Yan Kongyue called out, unable to hear Lin Qian's footsteps. She quickly gathered her spiritual energy to begin absorbing the white mist.
This place is a bit strange!
Feng Xing was aware of Yan Kongyue's unique constitution; wherever she appeared, smoke, poison gas, Gui Qi, resentment, malevolent energy, and even negative emotions from people would automatically be absorbed by her body. However, the white mist before her seemed different—it required Yan Kongyue to actively absorb it.
"Lin Qian!" Yan Kongyue shouted again, hastening her absorption of the white mist. Yet it felt as if the mist was endless; as soon as it thinned around her, more would surge in to take its place.
Something's not right!
I need to find Lin Qian! Feng Xing waved his hand, storing the car in his spatial bag. Huo Jingyu fell to the ground with a thud.
"Brother Lin, could you at least give me a hint? This is so embarrassing!"
"Sorry, I was careless!"
"Yan Kongyue, what are you looking for?" Even with their Ling Yan activated, the white mist obscured their view, making it difficult to see Yan Kongyue crouched on the ground.
"I'm looking for Wu Lan!" Yan Kongyue rummaged through her bag, but the white mist surged faster than she could absorb it. The black tea bag was quickly absorbing the fog as well, and the surroundings gradually became clearer.
"You three should stop moving and just stand there. Lin Qian has already disappeared." Yan Kongyue lowered her head, her tone remarkably calm.
