There seemed to be no way forward. It was a landslide! Lin Qian stopped the car and immediately jumped out. He saw several fire trucks parked not far from the landslide.
"Come back!" Yan Kongyue pulled out a few raincoats and rain boots from his bag. "Put these on, and let's go look for him!"
"Feng Xing, put the car into your space bag!"
"Got it!"
The group quickly donned their raincoats and slip-resistant boots before getting out of the car. Feng Xing waved his hand, storing the vehicle away.
"Hey! You all, step back! It's too dangerous here." A few muddy figures emerged from behind one of the fire trucks, their hair dripping with water.
The heavy rain fell mercilessly, washing mud and stones everywhere.
"We're here to find someone. What's the situation inside?" The sound of the rain was so loud that they had to shout to be heard.
"It's flooded inside; everyone from the village has evacuated."
"What about the film crew?"
"The crew? The person speaking glanced back at his companions. "They left for the county yesterday."
"Yan Kongyue, are you sure Fourth Brother is still inside?"
Yan Kongyue nodded and stepped closer to the speaker. "Everyone from the village has evacuated?"
"Most have left. The village chief hasn't come out yet. There's one household up on the hillside, far away; he went to look for them. But just as they left, this place collapsed. You all should leave; our people have already gone in. If nothing unexpected happens, they should be able to find them."
"Do you know who the village chief took with him?"
"I'm not sure about that. We were sent over from the county, and when we arrived, this place had already collapsed. However, our comrades who came before us are already inside."
Upon hearing this, Yan Kongyue stopped speaking and turned to run toward the landslide area, quickly climbing up a small hillside nearby.
Lin Qian and the others followed closely behind.
"Hey, wait! It's too dangerous inside! Didn't you see how high the river has risen?" But before he could finish his sentence, they had already disappeared from sight.
A girl's voice echoed from above, "It's okay, don't mind us. We are also professionally trained." As the voice faded into the distance, the speaker picked up a walkie-talkie to call their captain, but there was no response at all.
"Quick, use the vehicle's radio to contact the town!"
Yan Kongyue climbed up the slope, and her heart sank at the sight before her. The road was completely submerged, covered in yellow mud, with branches, tree trunks, wooden planks, and colored steel tiles floating on the surface. In the distance, houses were half underwater, and the mountain flood continued to pour out.
"Lin Qian, grab a boat!"
"Got it!" Huo Jingyu exclaimed. "You really did something good." Before they left, they had gone to an outdoor supply store where Lin Qian had requested an inflatable kayak, but Huo Jingyu insisted on buying a boat. In the end, both of them ended up purchasing three boats.
In this situation, the inflatable kayak would definitely get punctured. If that happened, we could be swept away by the water; a boat is definitely more suitable.
However, Feng Xing pulled out a jet ski. "I'll go ahead and scout!"
Lin Qian had already jumped onto a boat when she spotted Feng Xing's jet ski. "Don't look at that! He bought it abroad; let's hurry and row!"
"Damn it! We're going against the current; we can't row at all!" Huo Jingyu was getting anxious.
Yan Kongyue raised her hand and made a sweeping motion in the air. A golden door opened instantly.
"Where is General Song?"
"I am here!" came Song Hu's voice. The sound of urgent hoofbeats echoed from within the golden door, followed by a proud neigh that rang in their ears.
Dressed in armor and radiating heat, Song Hu wielded a long knife in one hand while holding the reins with the other as he charged out on his warhorse.
"General Yan, I have arrived!"
"Quickly, General Song! Take us away from here!" Yan Kongyue tossed a rope from the boat to Song Hu.
