A black SUV slowly came to a stop in front of the office building of the National Security Bureau. Two men and a woman stepped out—Yan Kongyue, Lin Lie, and Lin Zhuo. Originally, Lin Qian and Huo Jingyu were supposed to join them, but Lin Lang was worried they wouldn’t be able to handle the situation, so he called Lin Lie directly. With him there, the entire capital would surely give them some respect. 0

The three were escorted into a small conference room where others were already waiting. Upon seeing the three individuals inside, Lin Lie raised an eyebrow slightly. It seemed they weren’t worried about Yan Kongyue being bullied; the officials clearly valued her presence. In addition to the police chief and the National Security Bureau Director, even the Minister of National Security had come in person. 0

Gu Zhenhua and his colleagues had seen Yan Kongyue on video before, though they hadn’t seen her face clearly. However, judging by her figure, they could tell she must be beautiful. Yet, when they finally saw her in person, they realized their understanding of beauty had reached a new level. 0

“Hello!” Gu Zhenhua greeted with a cheerful smile as the three leaders tried to soften their serious expressions. They didn’t want to scare the young girl. 0

This seemed to be a common reaction among those meeting Yan Kongyue for the first time. Perhaps it was because she was so stunning that even knowing she was skilled at exorcism made them overlook that fact initially, focusing instead on her age and appearance. 0

“Yan Kongyue, this is our Director Gu, Gu Yan’s father!” Gu Zhenhua introduced, acting as a bridge among the six individuals present. Lin Zhuo belonged to the police department and didn’t often interact with leaders from the National Security Bureau. 0

However, Gu Zhenhua’s eyes lit up when he realized his son knew this girl. The little rascal hadn’t mentioned her at home; if he were to marry her one day, it would be quite something. 0

“Yan Kongyue, let me introduce you. This is Minister Liao Zhen and that’s Zhao Tianyi,” Gu Zhenhua continued. 0

Yan Kongyue smiled warmly and greeted them. Lin Lie recognized these individuals but didn’t usually engage in small talk with them. After exchanging pleasantries, he reminded himself that he was there to support Yan Kongyue; she was the star of the day, and he didn’t want to overshadow her. 0

Finally seeing her in person, Liao Zhen remarked, “You might not know this, but you’re considered an idol in our department!” The moment he laid eyes on her, he felt she radiated a gentle light that was very comforting; he couldn’t help but like her. 0

“Yes! We’ve been wanting to invite you for a long time,” Zhao Tianyi added with a teasing glance at Lin Zhuo. “It’s just that this guy has been overly protective, afraid we might steal you away!” 0

“You can’t blame my brother; it’s mainly because I’m lazy!” Yan Kongyue replied candidly. She wasn’t very good at these formal exchanges, especially when it came to indirect conversations like this one. 0

Zhao Tianyi was momentarily taken aback and didn’t know how to respond. He quickly grabbed two black boxes from a nearby cabinet. 0

“Sorry about this; we’re only now returning your belongings,” he said. 0

“It’s fine; if you want to study them for a few more days, that’s okay too. But the results will be the same!” Yan Kongyue stated plainly. This was indeed true; the National Security Bureau had spent several days trying to understand them without success. They had only opened the Retrieval Umbrella once for recording purposes and couldn’t get it open again afterward. 0

As for the Po Soul Nail they held in their hands, it wouldn’t even pierce through a plastic bag. 0

Lin Zhuo took the boxes and glanced at Yan Kongyue as if asking whether they should open them for inspection. Seeing his gesture, the three leaders straightened up in anticipation, hoping Yan Kongyue would nod and demonstrate how to open the umbrella for them once more. 0

Yan Kongyue didn’t want to show off; she had plenty of impressive items beyond these two. However, seeing their eager expressions made it hard for her to refuse—especially since Lin Lie’s eyes were fixated on those two black boxes. 0
