Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Yan Kongyue made a sweeping gesture in the air, and the eerie Gui Men slowly opened, revealing Heibai Wuchang waiting at the entrance.
"Xie Bian!"
"Present!" Xie Bian cupped his hands in greeting.
"They are my people. Treat them well once they go down!"
"Understood!" Xie Bian's expression remained unchanged.
"Don't worry, Boss!" Fan Wu Jiu quickly followed suit and cupped his hands as well.
"By the way, let me give you something!" With a wave of his hand, Yan Kongyue sent two wisps of black energy flying towards Er Gui Jiang.
"Hehehe, good stuff!" Fan Wu Jiu inhaled deeply, a look of delight on his face.
Xie Bian finally showed some expression; he had to admit that the Gui Qi refined by Yan Kongyue was very pure and would greatly benefit their cultivation.
"Go! Don't look back!"
Qin Yang felt a bit anxious at first, but when Yan Kongyue handed him over to He Bin, he felt more at ease. Now, seeing how polite Heibai Wuchang was to his sister made him even less afraid.
"Brother," Fourth Brother Qin Yang bowed to everyone before pulling He Bin towards Gui Men.
"Don't look back!" Qin Ze shouted desperately.
Hearing his brother's voice, Qin Yang paused for a moment, nodding heavily before disappearing into Gui Men.
Qin Ze watched his brother's figure fade away with gratitude for what Yan Kongyue had done for him. Besides missing his brother, he was most concerned about what Difu was really like. Would Qin Yang be scared? Would anyone bully him? What would his life be like down there? Yet, with just a few words from Yan Kongyue, everything was arranged.
"Yan Kongyue, thank you!"
"We're family; no need to be polite. You need to stay alert; you'll have to take care of Qin Yang's affairs later!"
Lin Qian glanced at Huo Jingyu. "Did you see that? It's not enough to have someone up top; there needs to be someone down below too!"
"Yeah, I understand now why the older generation cares so much about their affairs after they’re gone! My grandfather has already started having people scout for a burial site."
"Everything else is secondary; it's the sister that matters!"
"Got it!"
With Qin Yang's matter settled for now, Lin Qian knew it was no longer her concern. Lin Lang would definitely stay behind to accompany Qin Ze, while Lin Zhuo had to return to the police station. Yan Kongyue and the other three exchanged farewells before heading back to the Lin Family.
Ding ding dang! Just as Yan Kongyue was enjoying a table full of delicious little cakes, he was abruptly awakened by the noise. Already grumpy from being roused from sleep, he hadn’t even had a chance to taste the cakes yet.
After opening the door, Lin Qian and Huo Jingyu were greeted by a little girl standing at the entrance, her hair a mess, eyes wide with confusion, and lips pouting as she swayed slightly.
The two were initially quite anxious, but upon seeing her appearance, they were momentarily taken aback; she was just too adorable.
"I advise you to think carefully before speaking. If there's nothing urgent, you'll owe me a whole table of cakes," she said.
"Huh?" Huo Jingyu glanced at Lin Qian, who in turn looked back at him.
"Cakes are no problem. Don’t mention just a table; if you want a whole cake shop, I’ll buy it for you!"
"Really?"
"Of course! Sister, right now there’s a tricky situation that requires your personal intervention!"
"Tell me about it!" Yan Kongyue said, crossing her arms and leaning against the door frame.
"It's my family—something's happened at home!"
"What happened?"
"My mom said that since I haven't been home these past few days, things have almost turned upside down!"
