"Don't look up!"
Everything has an answer now, and Lin Zhuo is no longer curious.
In the center of the basement, on a rectangular wooden table, there is an object resembling a temple artifact, about the size of a soup pot. It emits a blood-red light that fills the room, illuminating it even without any lamps. Shadows occasionally flicker across the temple windows.
"Did Si Lang trap you here?" Yan Kongyue's voice carries an echo, clear and distant.
The shadows in the temple seem to pause for a moment before a hoarse voice responds: "That's right!" But if one listens closely, it sounds like many voices speaking in unison.
"You've avenged your grievances; what other wishes do you have?"
"Who are you?"
"I am someone who can help you!"
"Aren't you with those people from last night?"
"No. What other wishes do you have? I can help fulfill them and also send you away from here."
"You... can you really send us away from here?" The voices respond in unison, suddenly chaotic.
"Then what are the conditions?"
"No conditions, but there are limitations. I can help fulfill your wishes, but not if it involves killing."
"Damn it! We've already dealt with that! We just want to leave this place, but we can't take this thing with us, nor can we destroy it."
"That's not a problem. It's just a broken toilet, I can destroy it!"
"Really?"
"I never do anything without confidence, and I won't make promises I can't keep."
"Don't you want any reward?"
"I can forgo it, but I would like to hear your stories so that people know of his evil deeds!"
After a moment of silence, a gentle woman's voice emerges, distant yet clear.
"We were once vibrant university students in our prime, but we fell victim to his malice. Under the guise of hiring employees, he collected our identity information during interviews and later summoned us under various pretenses. He drugged us and brought us one by one to this place, turning us into various offerings for this broken toilet. He even ground our bones into powder and buried them behind the mountain in the yard, trapping our souls here. Little did he know that we had an ancient saying: 'Those who commit many injustices will bring about their own demise.' He never expected that our souls would unite here and eventually break free from his restraints to kill him."
As her words fade, a blood-red figure floats out from the artifact, hovering in the basement. With long blood-red hair cascading into a pool of blood, the figure gradually becomes clearer—a slender woman with shattered skin covered in eyes.
Every pair of eyes is different, yet they all share one similarity: tears that flow like blood.
The basement was drenched in a crimson hue, and the woman exuded an aura of desolation. The scene was both eerie and terrifying. Lin Zhuo tightened her grip, pondering the immense suffering these girls had endured.
Perhaps they had already taken their revenge; the vengeful spirits of the girls no longer harbored resentment, only a chilling presence that sent shivers down one's spine.
"The police will notify your families," Yan Kongyue said, her voice devoid of emotion yet strangely reassuring. "I will ensure that the police do their utmost to find your remains so that your families can give you a proper burial."
"You have suffered greatly for us. Please tell our families thank you. Being able to take revenge ourselves is our greatest wish. We have not harmed any innocent people aside from the one who caused us harm. Those last night were not our doing; they tried to destroy us using magic and were injured by the backlash from that thing."
"Yes, I believe you."
"Thank you. Our families will be heartbroken when they find out. Please let them know not to be too sad."
"Alright! If you are ready, I can send you on your way right now."
The girls said nothing, merely nodding faintly. They had no further desires; all those beautiful wishes had turned to dust on the day of their deaths. Now, they only wished to leave this place as soon as possible.
