When they returned to the Lin Family home, dawn had already broken, yet no one in the Lin Family had slept a wink in the living room.
Lin Lie briefly recounted the events of the previous night, easing everyone's worries. Among them, Lin Lang felt a mix of fear and relief. It would be a lie to say he wasn't afraid of death, but he was even more unwilling to see his family worry. His grandfather was old, and he couldn't bear to cause the elderly man distress. Then there was his mother, Lin Ruyu; on the surface, she appeared carefree, but deep down, she was the most fragile. If anything were to happen to him, she would surely crumble, and that was something he never wanted to witness.
"Little sister, I owe you a great debt," Fourth Brother said, his gratitude unspoken but deeply felt. Lin Lang raised his hand and made a heart gesture towards Yan Kongyue.
Yan Kongyue smiled back. She had never felt such a sense of accomplishment before. From her perspective, she hadn't done much; it was just normal work that she often did. However, it was clear that fate had brought her into this world for a reason. Although it was under the guise of providing for her retirement, those monsters and demons needed to be dealt with first; otherwise, they would become stumbling blocks on her path to peace.
"Grandpa, how did you manage to stay up until now?" Yan Kongyue noticed the old man slumped on the sofa and took the opportunity to lend him some spiritual energy.
"I'm worried about you all." When Yan Kongyue's hand touched his, he immediately felt a gentle energy radiating from her palm throughout his body. His fatigue and anxiety faded almost instantly, and he felt much more invigorated.
"Grandpa, this is the age of the young! Your descendants are all so capable; what is there to worry about? You should go back to sleep; everything will be resolved soon!"
"Ah, I'm old now; I can't keep up. As long as you all return safely, I will be at ease!" The old man smiled at Yan Kongyue. Some things didn't need to be spoken aloud; he understood them in his heart.
Yan Kongyue entrusted him to the butler and watched them leave before addressing everyone else: "You should all get some rest. Staying here will only drain your energy without any purpose."
"That's right! Mom and Dad, Yan Kongyue is right; we will handle this. Uncle and Aunt, just relax; no one can easily mess with the Lin Family." Lin Lie stood up from the sofa and glanced at Lin Zhuo.
Lin Zhuo quickly caught on: "Everyone go sleep! With you looking like this, we have to worry about you!"
With that remark, the two brothers headed toward the basement.
"Hey, big brother! Wait for me!" Lin Feng hurried after them.
Knowing they were going to interrogate the Exorcist, Yan Kongyue said nothing more; she needed to catch up on her sleep first.
"Xiao He, upstairs!" Wei He quickly followed Yan Kongyue toward the elevator.
The others had also stayed up all night. Realizing they couldn't help anymore, they each returned to their rooms.
"He Bin, once I finish these two days of work, I'll take you back to see your father!" After washing up, Yan Kongyue spotted He Bin sulking in a corner and understood what he was thinking.
"Really?" He Bin genuinely missed his father but felt like a ghost himself now. His mother was unwell; without Yan Kongyue's support, he didn't dare return home.
"Do you want to see your cousin too?"
"You guessed it?"
"Hmph! Your little thoughts are easy to read."
"I just think it would be unfair for her if we left like this!"
Yan Kongyue felt somewhat satisfied with those words: as long as she understood, it was enough. Scaring her was all that mattered; she had already been entangled in your karma, and her later life would not be happy!

Yes, yes! Boss, I’ll do whatever you say! He Bin quickly squeezed into a small gap in Yan Kongyue's bag.
The next day, Yan Kongyue woke up hungry.
Why is it that ever since I arrived here, my stomach has been growling non-stop? Yan Kongyue hadn’t had enough sleep, but she was truly very hungry.
