It was the File Storage Room, dimly lit, with tall shelves standing in rows, neatly lined with numerous File Bags. After they pushed the door open, Tan Ming switched on the light.
"How are we supposed to find anything in all this?" Qi Qiuluo said, a frown creasing her forehead as she gazed at the shelves filled with File Bags. "How long will this take?"
Tan Ming looked around, quickly scanning the shelves before pointing and saying, "Let's see if there are any File Bags that have been opened. The culprit wouldn’t leave things untouched if they were trying to hide something. If they left clues behind, there must be traces."
"Alright," Qi Qiuluo replied, resigned to the task.
The three of them began searching along different shelves. It was relatively quick to look for opened File Bags. Before long, Yan Qing exclaimed excitedly, "This one!"
His sharp eyes had spotted an opened File Bag, and he reached out to take it down. Tan Ming and Qi Qiuluo hurried over.
Yan Qing carefully pulled out the documents inside. It was a printed file.
"Wang Xiaoyan, female, age [age], from Shengnan City, Huixian, Luozheng Village," he read softly as he looked at the document.
The paper detailed Wang Xiaoyan's personal information and included a photo of her; nothing particularly unusual stood out.
"Is this the written clue left by the culprit?" Tan Ming frowned. Unable to make a judgment, he closed his eyes and concentrated, whispering, "Shiguang Su!"
This was his first time using the Messenger Tool.
Before the three of them appeared a scene. A man with an indistinct face stealthily pushed open the door and walked in.
After surveying the room, he muttered to himself, "The file room? It should be destroyed; who knows if there's any information left here."
"Destroy!" After saying those two words, the man turned to leave.
Just as he turned around, an opened File Bag suddenly appeared on the floor. The man glanced back and thought it had fallen from the shelf; he went over to stuff the File Bag back onto the shelf.
After he left, the scene froze on the File Bag, where the faint outline of the name Wang Xiaoyan could be seen on the cover. Shiguang Su could rewind time by fifteen minutes, and this fifteen-minute scene could transcend time. The scenes related to Tan Ming were connected to Wang Xiaoyan, so time flowed backward from the end to the beginning.
As the first scene faded away, they transitioned to the next one. They could clearly feel time reversing. Another scene emerged.
A young woman appeared in the archives, her back turned to them as she rummaged through the shelves. She found what she was looking for. The woman's voice echoed in the room.
She opened a file and pulled out Wang Xiaoyan's personal information. Looking at Wang Xiaoyan's photo, she sighed softly, "Wang Xiaoyan, after you died, the school intended to compensate your mother, but they insisted on causing a scene at school. Now that things have escalated, the school doesn’t want to settle down for fear of damaging its reputation and affecting next year's enrollment; they can only push all the blame onto you. Sigh, why did you have to take such drastic measures? Why jump off a building?"
"Please don’t come looking for me; I’m just a counselor with a family behind me. I’m also helpless in this situation. If you must hate someone, hate the principal." After saying this, the woman clutched the File Bag to her chest and hurried out.
Once she left, the scene vanished.
There were only these two scenes related to Wang Xiaoyan in the archives. Could this death system have been conjured up by Wang Xiaoyan's soul? Qi Qiuluo couldn’t hold back his thoughts and blurted out.
It was no wonder he was overthinking; it was indeed too coincidental that Wang Xiaoyan's information appeared. The school must have committed some wrongdoing to face such retribution!
