A crisp sound echoed through the air, followed by the furious cries of animals reverberating across the campus. A shadow darted out from the darkness like a bolt of lightning, knocking Yan Qing to the ground just over a meter from the door. 0

"Damn it!" Yan Qing couldn't help but curse as he struggled to lift his head, his pupils instantly constricting. 0

Before him stood a massive orange cat, so large that it defied any ordinary measurement. Its fur was bristled and stiff, resembling sharp spikes rather than the usual soft coat. Towering over two meters, its body was as imposing as a small hill. 0

The cat's eyes glowed a bright yellow, with slitted pupils that seemed nearly as large as a toddler's fist. Saliva dripped from its mouth, revealing razor-sharp teeth, while its claws gleamed ominously in the light. 0

The orange cat let out a low, threatening growl, its sharp claws aimed menacingly at Yan Qing. 0

Yan Qing quickly scrambled to his feet, stepping back in terror. Around him, he could hear a cacophony of distressed cries, interspersed with the rustling of leaves stirred by a gentle breeze. 0

He swallowed hard, his breath becoming shallow due to overwhelming anxiety. The cat's attack had missed, but it quickly turned into a frenzy, lunging at him with ferocity. Yan Qing barely had time to react before he was knocked back to the ground. 0

The cat's heavy body pinned his legs down, and instinctively, Yan Qing leaned backward, his back crashing against his bike. The handlebar struck him painfully in the spine, sending shockwaves of agony through him. 0

He gasped sharply, gripping the ground tightly; without support, he felt as if he might be crushed under the weight of the orange beast. In that moment of desperation, his hand brushed against something—a card. Realization dawned on him as he clutched it tightly. 0

There was no time to ponder anything else; he suddenly understood why he was in so much pain—the cat's sharp claws had sunk deep into his flesh without him realizing it. 0

The claws shifted slightly, and Yan Qing could almost hear the sickening sound of his flesh being torn apart. It was clear that his left leg must be a bloody mess by now. 0

This is it; I'm definitely going to die. 0

Cold sweat dripped down Yan Qing's back. 0

But just when it seemed all hope was lost, Tan Ming gritted his teeth and swiftly grabbed his bike, smashing it down onto the orange cat to divert its attention. 0

"What are you waiting for?" Yan Qing heard Tan Ming's urgent voice call out. 0

Glancing at Tan Ming, disbelief washed over him—how could he risk himself to save him at such a critical moment? Yet Yan Qing quickly regained his focus. 0

As the orange cat lunged at Tan Ming in retaliation, Yan Qing, gritting through the pain in his left leg, hobbled toward the dormitory door. Gratitude swelled within him for Tan Ming, who was putting himself in danger to rescue him. 0

The parking area downstairs was filled with cars. As the orange cat darted forward, Tan Ming quickly stepped back, causing the cat to miss its target. In a swift motion, Tan Ming pushed several cars over, toppling them onto the orange cat. He then dashed into the dormitory building. 0

His momentum caused him to bump into Yan Qing, who nearly stumbled from the impact. Fortunately, both of them managed to enter safely. 0

With a loud bang, the glass door was slammed shut behind them. 0
