Chapter 1 Bustling City
The sun is shining, the traffic is bustling, and the streets are crowded with people. At the bus stop, a crowd of people wait to board the first bus to work.
This bustling place is called Beigang City, known as a "first-class city" in the country. Skyscrapers stand tall, and it has the largest number of industrial workers in the country. They wear blue work uniforms and hats with the words "Forge Ahead" engraved on them. Regardless of whether others have been here, they all know that there is a group of "strivers" working hard here.
In the window seat of bus 930, a twenty-year-old young man in a blue work uniform and wearing a "Forge Ahead" hat yawns as he boards the first bus. His name is Wang San, and he is a worker at the largest-scale factory, "New Era," in this city. He just left school this year and hurriedly came here for an internship.
With his dream of "settling down and starting a career," Wang San eagerly looks out the window. The traffic flows past like shooting stars, alternating with commercial streets, residential buildings, and "Forge Ahead" brand cars. This is his first encounter with this city.
The New Era factory is responsible for the production of almost all industrial products here, such as mobile phones, computers, and various other goods, all labeled with the "New Era" brand. The factory layout is orderly, with different factory areas distinguished by red square signs. Workers in different factory areas have special symbols on their work uniforms. The symbol on the back of Wang San's work uniform, a soaring eagle heading towards the mechanized city, represents the automotive industry here.
On his first day here, he is accompanied by several companions, mainly his classmates: Zhang Xu, Liu Shuai, and the team leader from the internship unit, Wang Beidou.
Zhang Xu, Liu Shuai, and Wang San are the same age and graduated from the "New Era" University of Science and Technology. The three of them, with their bangs covering their eyes, looked at the vast factory area and the unfamiliar person leading them.
"It's about time. Let me introduce myself. I'm Wang Beidou, from the north, and my name means 'fighting for gold.' I will be in charge of arranging your work during the internship, arranging meals, and arranging transportation to and from work. The middle gap was left for the workers to operate. On the other side of the line, there was another robot and two shelves with finished products, with six on each of the two tiers.
"You've just arrived. Today, I will teach you how to control the equipment here and about safety. Listen carefully. A robot's impact can be fatal," Wang Beidou said, pulling Wang San back from the robot's safety line as he leaned forward curiously.
The three lined up and received their first gifts of their careers: safety vests, helmets, and gloves.
"Now, the equipment is still in the testing phase. Your first task is to understand the principles of the robot and how to place each tool, and to distinguish the workpieces. Today is your first lesson. Later, the robot will arrange the workpieces, so go and observe now!" Wang Beidou spoke quickly, pointing out and explaining each detail, guiding the three to observe the entire work area. Following the tasks assigned by Wang Beidou, the three of them started to work busily.
"Hey, what kind of job did you recommend for us, San? It's dirty, tiring, and there are so many rules," Zhang Xu said, looking at the dim factory and Wang Beidou's cold face, and then feeling his pocket for a cigarette. "We can't even smoke here, can we?" Liu Shuai whispered on the side.

The parts in his hands fell onto the fixed rack as if following a predetermined path, and the electric drill in his other hand immediately fastened the bolts. We will test 720 times today, equivalent to 15 racks in and out. You will be doing that later." With these words, he pointed to the racks on both sides, urging the three to work quickly.
The robot's several meters long mechanical arm danced and accurately landed on the first grid of the first rack under the controller's instructions.
The camera on the robot's "palm" emitted a purple light, and three seconds later, it raised its head, assuming a backhand posture, and then descended again, gripping the first workpiece. It then swiftly moved. In an instant, it arrived at the first placement position, slowly descended, and with a click, the robot's "palm" released the workpiece, which landed accurately in the slot.

"Perhaps, this thing, once mastered, could buy Liu's family a house in a month," Wang San said, looking at the repetitive movements of the large machine in front of him, seeing full automation of production, giving everyone the ability to manage their lives in the factory and quickly buy a house.
As the six slots on the right side filled up, the robot stopped at the position where the three had come from, and the green signal light at one end of the conveyor line lit up.

Remember, do not release if there are workpieces in the unloading slots!" "When this line appears, what should we do?" Wang San looked at the cutting area, where there were still no workpieces in the 6 slots.
Wang Beidou held a pen and pointed to another line on the computer, " Release confirmation for the cutting area," and looked at the three people. "Remember, if confirmed, there are no workpieces in the cutting area, or anything that affects the operation of the transport line, just click this button. The transport line will move on its own, stop after completing 6, and the loading robot will continue to work."
While talking, Wang Beidou personally demonstrated the operation, Wang San took out his phone and recorded the entire process. Wang Beidou pressed the enter key, and the conveyor belt slowly started moving. Gears and the conveyor belt rubbed against each other, making a restless sound. In just half a minute, the conveyor belt stopped, and the 6 workpieces that had been installed in the slots came to a halt. New 6 slots entered the working range of the feeding robot.
"Remember it well. If anyone makes a mistake in the future, I will reimburse your salary for this month. Do you understand?" Wang Beidou held a pen, pointing at Wang San and the other two, exuding a fierce aura.
"We understand, brother Dau " the three of them said in unison.
"Alright, get to work," Wang Beidou stood in place, observing the three of them, and nodded in satisfaction.
The robots worked swiftly, the machines roared throughout the entire factory. Various transport vehicles and forklifts raced by, accompanied by the smell of smoke, rubber, and various other scents, welcoming the three with warm greetings. And so, the internship life of the three began amidst the hustle and bustle of the production line...
