Ling Xue felt a surge of energy in her lower body. When she turned her head, she saw Zhao Gang channeling energy towards her, making her body feel more agile.
"I sacrificed a significant amount of my power to help you, so don’t make me feel it was in vain," Zhao Gang said, gripping Ling Xue's other arm as they faced each other.
As he began to delve into the structure of the Kun character, the Nanny quickly pulled them both away and shut the door behind them before rushing off.
"Since you’ve already entered this realm, I’ll teach you a bit more. Don’t forget about your spiritual body," Zhao Gang said softly. As their bodies merged, a wave of energy emanated from Zhao Gang’s Dan Tian, traveling down the Ren Meridian. At the convergence point, a brand new and vibrant energy formed, guiding towards Ling Xue’s Dan Tian.
"Just cooperate with me, and I will be gentle," he continued. Ling Xue stretched her arms and legs high, feeling the energy flow through her entire being.
Ling Xue sensed that the energy within her flowed gently like spring water. Her mind gradually relaxed, and under Zhao Gang's guidance, she began to attempt to direct this energy through her meridians. She could feel that with the circulation of energy, her body seemed to undergo subtle changes; her previously fatigued muscles and meridians began to regain vitality.
"Yes, just like that," Zhao Gang’s voice resonated in her ears, filled with encouragement and praise.
He continued, "Remember this feeling. In the future, when you practice alone, you will be able to find this state." Ling Xue nodded; she understood that this was a rare learning opportunity that she needed to seize with full concentration.
Time passed unknowingly as Ling Xue felt as if she were immersed in a tranquil ocean where everything around her slowed down and became serene. Her mind became clearer under the nourishment of this energy, as if she could perceive mysteries that were usually beyond her reach.
Finally, Zhao Gang slowly withdrew his hands and looked at Ling Xue with satisfaction in his eyes. "You did well—better than I expected. Now you need to rest and allow your body to absorb this energy."
Just as Ling Xue felt comfortable, a tremendous suction force emerged from the convergence point, seemingly draining all the energy from her body. Zhao Gang’s expression turned serious as he warned her, "Be careful; this is a method of dual cultivation as well as absorption. I need to collect some interest."
Ling Xue's meridians trembled all over as she broke into a sweat. Her complexion turned pale; seeing her struggle made Zhao Gang feel a twinge of sympathy. He thought to himself: "For Ding Lu to achieve maximum effectiveness, over-extraction would be detrimental. I’ll let her fade away only when I establish my foundation."
Ling Xue felt light-headed and gasped for air. "I can’t take it anymore; spare me!"
Zhao Gang released Ling Xue, feeling that he had gained much from this experience before settling into meditation.
Ling Xue quickly assessed herself and discovered that she had reached the first level of Qi Refinement. Just moments ago, she had distinctly felt herself nearing the third level and was on the verge of breaking through to the fourth level—only to be interrupted by the absorption process.
Cautiously, she took out a pill known for its potency—a glowing elixir encased in a shell. According to the system, it was currently most beneficial for her; without hesitation, she consumed it and began refining it within herself.
