Lin Mother frowned and said, "Let's wait and see; we are doing this for Lina's sake."
After a while, the child finally fell asleep. Ling Na and Ling Yu tiptoed out of the room.
Ling Na was surprised to see her parents still in the living room and asked, "Mom and Dad, why are you still awake?"
Lin felt a bit awkward and replied, "Oh, we were just watching some TV. You two should get some rest."
Ling Na and Ling Yu exchanged a knowing smile before saying to their mother, "Then we'll head back to our room. You two should sleep early too."
Once back in their room, Ling Yu helplessly said to Ling Na, "What do you think is going on with Mom and Dad? They seem a bit strange."
Ling Na also felt puzzled. "I don't know; maybe they're just too concerned about us."
Ling Xue chimed in, "I know what your mother is thinking." She pinched Ling Na playfully, causing her to yelp in pain.
"Hey! What was that for? You hurt me! You're a man; you have so much strength!"
"I'm just looking out for you. Your mother is probably listening at the door," Ling Xue teased.
Ling Na's face turned red. "Are you joking with me?"
The two of them began to playfully wrestle, and Ling Yu seized the opportunity to grab Ling Na's hands, saying, "You can't escape this time."
Ling Na quickly surrendered. "The baby hasn't fallen asleep yet!"
Ling Yu smiled knowingly and released her hands, whispering, "Alright then, let's wait until the baby is asleep before continuing." Ling Na gently pushed him away but wore a happy smile on her face.
"If your parents keep this up, it will seriously affect our lives. We might as well get our marriage certificate early; that way, your parents will be at ease," Ling Yu suggested.
Ling Na fell into deep thought at his words. She knew this was a solution to their problem but felt hesitant inside.
"Are you really willing? What if you don't want me anymore in the future?" Ling Na asked with concern.
"Of course I am," Ling Yu said, gazing deeply into her eyes. "We will face every challenge together. You're the only one who knows my secret."
Ling Na took the initiative to kiss Ling Yu, her face flushing. "You can continue now."
"What about the baby?" Ling Yu joked.
"Hurry up; I can’t wait any longer!" Ling Na's words were like a warm spring breeze that dispelled all of Ling Yu's doubts. He gently lifted her into his arms and stepped into the bedroom. The night was hazy, with moonlight spilling through the window as they enjoyed this sweet moment together. At that moment, it felt as if all outside disturbances had vanished; only they existed in each other's world.
One day, under bright sunshine and a gentle breeze, Ling Yu and Ling Na walked hand in hand into the civil affairs bureau, filled with joy and anticipation.
At the marriage registration office, they held hands tightly with smiles of expectation on their faces.
Staff Member A looked at them and joked, "Hey there, young man! Caught by this beautiful sister so easily?"
Ling Yu grinned widely and replied, "Absolutely! I'm willingly caught by her and won't let go for a lifetime."
"Miss, you’ve really taken care of this little one. There are many days ahead," said Staff Member B with a smile.
Ling Xue also smiled and replied, "Don’t worry, I’ll make sure he behaves himself."
Staff Member A, while organizing some documents, chimed in, "Alright then, seeing you two so sweet together, hurry up and get your certificate. Go live your life well."
When they returned home with their marriage certificate and showed it to Lin Na's Mother, tears welled up in her eyes. They felt joy for their daughter and were touched by Ling Yu's efforts and dedication.
Lin Na's Mother held Ling Na's hand and said, "Seeing you both so happy puts our minds at ease."
Ling Na nodded in agreement, "Now that you’ve gotten your certificate, it’s time for us to head back. Make sure to live well from now on."
