To quickly integrate into this place, I enrolled in a Fusang Language class. The teacher, Keiko Suzuki, is experienced and has a friendly demeanor. 0

In class, several male classmates pay special attention to Ling Xue. One of them, Kenta Sato, is a cheerful and outgoing young man who always wears a bright smile. Another, Yuta Watanabe, has a more reserved personality but his eyes reveal sincerity. Then there’s Koji Takahashi, who is lively and full of ideas. 0

Every class, their gazes inevitably drift toward Ling Xue. Kenta Sato takes the initiative one day during a break; he approaches Ling Xue with an exquisite traditional Fusang snack in hand, blushing as he says, “Ling Xue, this is a treat I prepared just for you. I hope you like it.” 0

Ling Xue looks at the snack in Kenta's hand and sighs inwardly, thinking how enthusiastic these boys are. However, she doesn’t have the heart for such matters right now. Still, she smiles politely and replies, “Thank you so much, Sato. You’re too kind.” 0

Not to be outdone, Yuta Watanabe brings a beautifully illustrated book on Fusang culture a few days later as a gift for Ling Xue. “I thought this book would be perfect for you; it will help you understand our country better,” he says. 0

Ling Xue accepts the book, pondering that her purpose in learning Fusang Language is to conduct research in this country. Yet the gestures from these boys leave her feeling overwhelmed. Nevertheless, she maintains her elegance and responds graciously, “Watanabe, this book looks wonderful. Thank you for your thoughtfulness.” 0

Koji Takahashi takes a different approach; he gifts Ling Xue a wind chime with Fusang characteristics and cheerfully says, “Ling Xue, hang this by your window; when the wind blows, it sounds lovely!” 0

Ling Xue looks at the wind chime with a sense of helplessness. She hopes these admirers won’t complicate her quest to uncover the truth about Nana Ko. Still putting on a smile, she replies, “Takahashi, thank you so much for your gift; it’s beautiful.” 0

Faced with the gifts and enthusiasm of these admirers, Ling Xue feels somewhat helpless but doesn’t want to refuse them outright. She can only accept their kindness politely while maintaining an appropriate distance to avoid interfering with her mission to seek the truth. She knows she cannot be distracted by external influences and must focus on unraveling the mystery behind Nana Ko. 0

A week passes swiftly. 0

One day on the street, a classmate named Saki Yoshiko suddenly stops her: “You’re really Ling Xue! At first, I thought you were Ohashi Nanako; you two look so much alike.” 0

Ling Xue is startled but remains composed on the surface as she asks, “Do you know Nana Ko?” 0

Saki nods and replies, “Yes! The former Nana Ko worked at Green Source Vegetarian Restaurant; I also worked there for a while, so I’m somewhat familiar with her. Do you know Nana Ko?” 0

After pondering for a moment, Ling Xue responds, “I’m very curious about Nana Ko. Since we look alike, I feel her situation is important to me. Can you tell me about her time at the vegetarian restaurant? Did she exhibit any unusual behavior or did anyone special come looking for her?” 0

Saki furrows her brow in thought: “She was quite diligent while working there; however, there was a period when she seemed distracted all the time. There was also a mysterious man who would wait for her outside the restaurant. When I asked her about him, she wouldn’t say.” 0
