She bought the watch without hesitation and, in a warm moment, gifted it to Liu Jiedong. "This is for you. I want to spend every minute and every second with you," Ling Xue said affectionately.
Liu Jiedong took the watch, his heart filled with emotion. "You’re so wonderful, my dear. I will cherish the time we have together."
In the following days, Ling Xue and Liu Jiedong decided to go to the cinema again to watch a highly anticipated romantic film. In the movie, the male and female leads held a grand and heartwarming wedding on a beautiful beach, captivating everyone’s hearts. Ling Xue watched the scenes on the screen, her eyes sparkling with longing as if she were part of that romantic setting.
As the final scene of the movie faded away and darkness enveloped the screen, Ling Xue gently linked her arm with Liu Jiedong's, feeling a mix of nostalgia and hope. She whispered, "Their wedding was so beautiful and romantic. Do you think we will have a wedding like that in the future?"
Liu Jiedong paused for a moment, seemingly touched by Ling Xue's words that stirred something deep within him. However, he quickly adjusted his emotions and smiled faintly as he replied, "Movies always showcase the beautiful side of things. They paint a dreamy picture for us, but marriage in reality involves much more than that. It’s not just about romance; we need to consider many practical factors like financial stability, family responsibilities, and how our personalities mesh together. These are all things we need to think about seriously."
Ling Xue listened to Liu Jiedong's words and nodded, understanding the truth in what he said. Yet she still felt filled with anticipation and hope for the future.
Ling Xue sensed Liu Jiedong's hesitation in his words and felt a pang of disappointment in her heart. Still unwilling to give up, she said, "But I really want to have a home that belongs to us, to spend our future days together."

They continued on their way and arrived at a uniquely styled restaurant. The decor was elegant and the atmosphere warm, making it feel particularly comfortable. Just as they finished ordering their food and were ready to enjoy their meal, an area of the restaurant suddenly came alive with excitement. A romantic proposal was unfolding there.
The man had clearly planned everything meticulously; colorful flowers and flickering candles formed a huge heart shape, creating a dreamy ambiance. Other diners were drawn in by this scene, pausing their meals to watch the happy couple.
Amidst cheers and applause from everyone present, the man knelt down on one knee and pulled out a sparkling diamond ring from his pocket. Looking deeply into the woman’s eyes, he professed his love with a gentle yet firm voice. The woman was moved to tears by this sudden surprise; happiness sparkled in her eyes. In that moment, she nodded without hesitation, accepting his proposal.
The atmosphere in the restaurant reached its peak as everyone applauded and congratulated them, showering the couple with their best wishes. At that moment, it felt as if the entire world was filled with love and happiness.
Ling Xue watched this scene with envy and turned to Liu Jiedong saying, "Look how happy they are! I want to have such moments too."
Liu Jiedong fell silent for a moment before gently responding, "Ling Xue, now is not the right time. I think we still need more understanding and adjustment between us. Marriage is a significant commitment; we can't rush into it."
Ling Xue's expression dimmed instantly at his words. She held back her sadness and replied softly, "Okay, I understand. Maybe you’re right." Although Liu Jiedong had skillfully declined her hopes, Ling Xue still held onto a glimmer of hope in her heart. She decided to give Liu Jiedong some time as well as herself some time to let their relationship stabilize and mature.
Walking down the street under the neon lights at night, they walked in silence. Though Ling Xue felt somewhat disappointed inside, she recognized that there was truth in Liu Jiedong's words. She resolved not to rush but instead cherish every moment spent with him so that their feelings could deepen gradually over time. She believed that as long as they worked together, there would surely be beautiful moments waiting for them in the future.
