Under the tender gaze of Liu Jiang, Ling Xue's cheeks flushed instantly, resembling ripe apples. The rosy hue spread from her cheeks to the nape of her neck, like a brilliant sunset painting the sky. Her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, memories of her past flooding her consciousness. Deep down, she pondered: I am a man, yet I have fallen deeply in love with this man before me in a woman's body. This strange and contradictory feeling surged within her like a tidal wave. How should I face this unique emotion? It is filled with sweetness and warmth, yet also confusion and unease. Her heart raced uncontrollably, each rapid beat resembling a passionate melody that expressed her inner turmoil and sweetness. She felt both bewildered by this special affection and unable to resist the fiery love burning within her.
"Liu Jiang," she wanted to speak but hesitated, unsure of how to articulate the myriad thoughts swirling in her mind. Anxiety and panic gripped her heart, fearing that if she spoke, she would inadvertently reveal the secret buried deep within.
"What’s wrong, Xue?" Liu Jiang asked gently, his eyes filled with concern and affection. He gazed at Ling Xue's flushed face, his heart brimming with compassion, wondering what thoughts occupied her mind.
"I just feel that this happiness at this moment leaves me somewhat at a loss," Ling Xue replied softly. She dared not let Liu Jiang sense the secret hidden deep within her heart and could only use such words to mask her complex emotions. She silently prayed that Liu Jiang would not press further.
Liu Jiang gently caressed Ling Xue's hair and said tenderly, "Don't be afraid, Xue. We will face everything together in the future. I will always be by your side to protect you." His heart was filled with determination, wanting to provide Ling Xue with a sense of security.
However, deep inside Ling Xue lingered a hint of unease. She recalled some of Liu Jiang's past behaviors—those moments when he had inadvertently revealed selfishness and flirtation. Although he appeared so affectionate now, Ling Xue couldn’t help but wonder if all of this was merely temporary. She reminded herself not to fully immerse in this emotion and to maintain a sense of clarity.
Ling Xue lifted her head to meet Liu Jiang's gaze, warmth surging within her. "Liu Jiang, why do you love me so much?" Her heart was both touched and curious, wanting to know what made her special in Liu Jiang's eyes.
Liu Jiang smiled and said, "Because you are you—your kindness, your beauty, everything about you captivates me. From the very first moment I saw you, I knew you were the most important person in my life." His eyes were filled with deep affection as if Ling Xue were his entire world.
Tears shimmered in Ling Xue's eyes; she was moved by Liu Jiang's sincerity. "Liu Jiang, I love you too. But sometimes I fear that this love is too intense and may cause us to lose ourselves." Her heart was filled with worry about the unpredictable consequences this love might bring.
Liu Jiang held Ling Xue's hand tightly and declared firmly, "It won't happen, Xue. Our love will make us stronger and braver. We will overcome every challenge together and create our future." His heart brimmed with confidence that their love could conquer all obstacles.
Yet at that moment, Liu Jiang harbored another plan in his heart. He looked at the blood-stained sheets with immense pleasure and satisfaction swelling within him. He even discreetly took out his phone and quietly captured the scene before him. To him, it symbolized his conquest—a trophy he could boast about to others.
