Ling Xue eagerly checked her rewards, her heart racing with anticipation. She had received the location of the Yin Yang Bracelet. As she approached the designated spot, she would automatically trigger the Shou Ying Mission. A prompt appeared at the bottom of her mission log, indicating a location hint. Just then, the system sent another notification: the Female Body Clamp had been successfully used, granting her the skill Wang You.
The system automatically issued a new mission: to punish a particularly notorious rogue, with a time limit of one day. The target was also located at Su City University. Completing this mission would reward her with the complete version of the Wang You skill, which could be further upgraded. However, failure meant immediate erasure.
"Don't worry, host," the system reassured her. "I have lowered the difficulty of the mission while increasing the penalty for failure."

It claimed it wasn't dangerous, yet here she was facing direct annihilation. Without further thought, Ling Xue quickly hailed a taxi. Gripping her phone tightly, she waved down a cab, her heart pounding as the system's warnings echoed in her mind. Once inside, she noticed an overwhelming smell of smoke in the taxi that made her uncomfortable. It was high time she got herself a proper means of transportation.
Upon reaching the gates of Su Cheng University, the system prompted a mission update. Ling Xue's heart tightened; the change in the mission caught her off guard. She knew time was of the essence and hurriedly followed the location prompt deeper into the campus.
Ahead, a large crowd had gathered, with noisy discussions rising and falling like waves. "Look, there's someone on the rooftop of the lab!" It seemed someone was about to jump! Ling Xue's heart raced as she quickened her pace, weaving through the throng to get to the front. Looking up, she saw a girl in a school uniform standing at the edge of the rooftop. Her expression was vacant and confused, her emotions running high as she clutched the railing tightly, seemingly ready to leap at any moment.
Sighs and murmurs of concern rippled through the crowd as people worried for the girl's safety. "Why is she feeling this way?" "I heard her family is struggling, and she's been through so much lately." Ling Xue listened to the surrounding chatter, her resolve to save the girl strengthening.
She quickly assessed the situation, knowing that hesitation was not an option; action was required immediately. Taking a deep breath to steady herself, she began to approach the rooftop. As she drew closer, Ling Xue repeatedly reminded herself: I must save her; I must save her.
When she finally reached the entrance to the rooftop, she could see the girl more clearly. The wind had tousled her hair, and her face was streaked with tears—she had clearly been crying for a long time. Ling Xue's heart tightened again, but she knew this was not the time to show emotion. She tried to remain calm and spoke in a soothing voice, "Hey, I'm Ling Xue. Can you hear me? Can we talk?"
The girl turned to look at Ling Xue, a flicker of confusion crossing her features. Seizing the moment, Ling Xue continued, "I know you might be in pain right now, but please believe me—there's always a way to resolve things. Your life is precious; don’t give up on it so easily." The girl trembled slightly; Ling Xue's words seemed to touch a deep part of her soul. She loosened her grip on the railing, tears streaming down her face as she tried to force a smile. "Can you really understand me?" Her voice was choked with despair yet laced with hope.
Ling Xue nodded firmly, her eyes filled with encouragement and sincerity. "Of course I can understand you. We all go through tough times," she said gently. "I'm willing to listen and help you find a way out. Life may not be perfect, but there are always things worth cherishing." The girl's demeanor softened at these words; she slowly released her grip on the railing and relaxed her tense body.
Seeing this, Ling Xue felt a slight sense of relief but knew not to let her guard down just yet. She continued talking with the girl, trying to help her feel more at ease. "Pan Mei," she said softly, "you've always worked hard; this isn't your fault. You've been deceived by bad people—we can't let them win." The determination in Ling Xue's gaze brought Pan Mei a measure of comfort.
Ling Xue pressed on: "Think about it—you’ve worked so hard for your dreams; now you can fight just as hard to overcome this situation. Let's figure this out together—we can get through this." As Pan Mei listened to Ling Xue's words, hope began to flicker in her eyes.
"System, can I activate my skills for this mission?"
"Host, there are no restrictions against using skills for this mission; please feel free to use them."
Ling Xue immediately activated her skill Charm and quickly guided Pan Mei away from the edge of the rooftop, helping her abandon thoughts of ending her life while increasing her hope for survival and enhancing Pan Mei's trust in her.
Finally, they had made it in time.
