After the meeting concluded, Chen Rui and Lin Xi led their Squad to begin their investigation immediately. A few days later, they discovered a lead: a scientist who had previously worked for the dark current secretly contacted the Special Zone, hoping to gain asylum in exchange for internal intelligence about the dark current.
After careful arrangements, this scientist was safely brought into the Special Zone. His name was Lin Feng, an expert who had participated in several engineering projects for the dark current. According to him, the dark current was indeed conducting human body modification experiments, attempting to enhance human endurance, strength, and reaction speed through genetic modifications and drug enhancements.
With a serious expression, Lin Feng explained to Chen Rui: "The Dark Current Experiment Bases are located in different cities, all hidden underground with strict security measures. The core of these experiments is codenamed 'Abyss.' Night Raven is one of the key executors of the Abyss Project. I personally supervised several experiments to ensure that the data met requirements."
"What is the purpose of these experiments?" Chen Rui asked.

At the same time, Lin Xi brought another piece of intelligence indicating that the dark current had recently been purchasing a rare mineral at high prices—this mineral was a rare radioactive substance with strong energy release properties. According to analysis from intelligence sources, they might be using this mineral as an energy source for their Abyss Warrior modification experiments.
Chen Rui immediately reported this critical intelligence to Director Zhao. The Special Zone decided to dispatch their Squad to intercept this batch of goods at the mineral trading location and uncover who was behind the dark current's operations.
