"Cough, cough, then it's decided. This time, I will go personally," Qin Feng said as he cleared his throat.
"No!" the Eldest Prince, Qin Wan'er, Nie Xiaoqian, and Su Zhen exclaimed in unison.
The four exchanged glances, and Su Zhen felt a bit awkward, her face flushing red. The Eldest Prince looked at Su Zhen in surprise. Xiao Qing rolled her eyes, thinking that her sister's old illness had flared up again.
Qin Feng was taken aback for a moment but then smiled, "Aren't you all aware of my strength? Don't worry."
The Eldest Prince snapped back to reality, frowning. "But there's no need for you to go personally. Wushuang can handle it; it's just Jinhua Prefecture."
Qin Feng shook his head with a smile. "What I'm worried about isn't the people."
Everyone was momentarily stunned before their expressions changed. Nie Rong asked in confusion, "Could there be monsters?"
Qin Feng nodded affirmatively. "That's for sure, and there will be plenty of them. In chaotic times, demons emerge; don't you know that?"
The group fell silent. Indeed, every time chaos ensued, those monsters would surface.
They couldn't change Qin Feng's decision, so it was settled just like that.
After everyone left, Old Fox stepped forward.
"Young Master," he said.
Qin Feng glanced at him. "Is the news confirmed? A county has been drained of blood?"
"Yes," Old Fox replied, fear evident in his eyes. "I went to check personally; there wasn't a single survivor left in the entire county—only human skins remained."
As he spoke, terror flickered in his gaze. Even he had been frightened half to death by the scene at that time; it was simply too brutal. He had seen demons devour people before, but it was usually just tearing them apart and eating them raw.
Qin Feng narrowed his eyes, puzzled. "Wasn't the Blood Demon supposed to be asleep for three years? Why is it active now?"
Indeed, his first suspicion fell on the Blood Demon; this was why he wanted to go himself. He didn't want his soldiers to be wiped out by the Blood Demon.
With his decisive nature, Qin Feng set off with his soldiers for the City Gate the very next day.
At that moment, he felt somewhat helpless as he looked at the several women in front of him, rendered speechless.
"Brother, I want to go too!" Qin Wan'er and Nie Xiaoqian rode on the same horse, excitedly calling out to Qin Feng.
"Stop messing around, Nie Xiaoqian. Take her back," Qin Feng shook his head.
But Nie Xiaoqian remained unfazed. "Qin Ge, I want to go too. If you don't take me, I'll just follow you quietly."
"Me too!" Qin Wan'er chimed in immediately.
Qin Feng was at a loss for words and couldn't help but glance at Su Zhen and Xiao Qing.
"I'm protecting you," Su Zhen said softly.
Xiao Qing rolled her eyes beside them. "Excuses, all excuses."
In the end, Qin Feng nodded. "Fine, but if you come with me, you have to listen to my orders."
"Yes!" Qin Wan'er exclaimed excitedly.
Qin Feng shot a glare at Qin Wan'er before leading them toward Jinhua Prefecture.
Su Zhen and Xiao Qing flew in the air behind them.
"Sister, you can't be foolish again," Xiao Qing couldn't help but remind her.
Su Zhen paused for a moment. "This time no one is plotting against us. Don't worry; I know what I'm doing."
Xiao Qing watched Su Zhen as she kept her eyes on Qin Feng and felt like rolling her eyes again.
"Only you believe that," she thought but didn't say anything more.
Compared to Xu Xian, she didn't mind Qin Feng so much; she could only take it one step at a time.
As they moved forward, Su Zhen furrowed her brows slightly.
"What's wrong, sister?" Xiao Qing noticed Su Zhen's unusual demeanor immediately.
Su Zhen glanced around and said to Xiao Qing, "Have you noticed? This isn't the road to Da Jin Hua Fu."
"Huh? Is it not?" Xiao Qing replied, somewhat confused.
