Hei Jiao's figure flickered and transformed into a human form, casting a strange glance at Fa Hai. 0

"Fa Hai, haven't you noticed anything unusual?" 0

Fa Hai paused, looking at Hei Jiao in confusion. "What do you mean? What's wrong?" 0

Hei Jiao shook her head. "A powerful snake demon falling in love with an ordinary mortal and even marrying him—do you really think that's normal? Mortals have only a limited lifespan; can their bodies withstand the whims of a snake demon?" 0

At her words, Fa Hai stiffened, his expression shifting as he realized he hadn’t considered that angle. He had only focused on preventing the union between humans and demons. Now, hearing Hei Jiao’s perspective, he sensed something was indeed amiss. 0

"Are you saying Xu Xian has a problem?" Fa Hai asked after a long pause, his voice low. 0

Hei Jiao smiled slightly. "I don't know for sure, which is why I want to meet him." 0

Fa Hai furrowed his brow. "Although I haven't examined him closely, I can assure you that Xu Xian is just an ordinary mortal; there’s nothing wrong with him." 0

Hei Jiao merely chuckled softly. "If he has no issues, then I won’t make things difficult for him." 0

Fa Hai hesitated for a moment; though reluctant, he knew he couldn’t overpower her. His concession stemmed from a fear that Hei Jiao might unleash her wrath upon Jinshan Temple. He could bear the consequences himself, but if it brought ruin to Jinshan Temple, that was something he wanted to avoid at all costs. 0

"Come with me," Fa Hai said in a serious tone. 0

He then soared toward Jinshan Temple. 0

Xiao Qing quickly flew in front of Hei Jiao, looking anxious. "Master, why did Fa Hai leave?" 0

Hei Jiao glanced at her. "Just follow me; don’t speak or move around." With that, she continued on her way. 0

Xiao Qing appeared bewildered but hesitated for a moment before following suit. 0

In front of a meditation room, Fa Hai stood outside with an expression that shifted between uncertainty and determination. 0

Hei Jiao and Xiao Qing landed beside him. 0

Fa Hai pushed open the door and said, "Come in with me." He stepped inside without waiting for a response. 0

Hei Jiao didn’t hesitate either; she lifted her foot and walked in after him. 0

Hei Jiao immediately noticed a plain-looking Zhong Ren sitting on the Pillow. His appearance was quite ordinary, with nothing particularly remarkable about him. However, his expression was indifferent, giving off a sense of having seen through the mundane world. 0

"Xu Xian, you truly are heartless!" Xiao Qing exclaimed, her excitement palpable as she spotted Zhong Ren. 0

Finally, Xu Xian reacted, lifting his head to look at Xiao Qing. He shrank back in fear at the sight of the snake demon. Then, he scrambled to his feet and rushed over to Fa Hai. "Master, save me! The snake demon wants to harm me!" 0

Seeing this, Xiao Qing's anger intensified. "Xu Xian, you shameless coward! Did you not already know we are snake demons?" She huffed. "After all the help I gave you, now you turn your back on us?" 0

Hei Jiao looked at Xiao Qing in surprise. This was not how it played out on television. "Xiao Qing, what do you mean?" 0

Xiao Qing shot Xu Xian a furious glare. "This man! When Xu Xian asked to marry my sister, she told him her true identity. Although he was shocked at the time, he claimed not to care and relentlessly pursued her. Just when my sister was about to agree to his proposal, Fa Hai showed up. I don’t know what Fa Hai told him, but he ended up going with Fa Hai to Jinshan Temple. As a result, my sister was suppressed under Leifeng Pagoda while trying to save him." 0

Hei Jiao was taken aback. "They never got married? Bai Suzhen didn’t give birth?" 0

Xiao Qing looked at Hei Jiao in confusion. "No, my lord. Because of Fa Hai, even though my sister agreed, they never actually married." 0

Hei Jiao raised an eyebrow in realization. "So that’s how it is. But it makes sense; after all, this is the real world." He turned his gaze toward Xu Xian, his dragon eyes shimmering as he frowned. There was indeed something wrong; deep within Xu Xian's mind lay a Shari Zi. 0

Hei Jiao glanced at Fa Hai and couldn’t help but chuckle. At that moment, Fa Hai's expression was quite remarkable—confused, surprised, and filled with anger. 0

Hei Jiao understood that Fa Hai must have seen the Shari Zi as well. "Fa Hai, it seems this is your Buddhism handiwork. I wonder what you are plotting?" 0

Fa Hai’s face darkened. "Don’t speak nonsense; it’s not necessarily my Buddhism at work." 0

A faint smile appeared on Hei Jiao's face, while Fa Hai clearly struggled to accept the situation, unable to admit it. Yet, a thorn had undoubtedly been planted in his heart. 0

"He has handed this over to you. I want to take Bai Suzhen with me. Is there any problem?" Hei Jiao spoke up. 0

Fa Hai glanced at Xu Xian and, without saying another word, turned to leave. 0

Hei Jiao looked back at Xu Xian, his gaze laden with meaning as if to say, "You handle this yourself." 0

Xiao Qing shot Xu Xian a resentful glare before quickly following Hei Jiao; saving her sister was the priority. 0

Once everyone had left, the fear in Xu Xian's expression faded away. A glimmer of Buddhist light flashed in his eyes as he stared at Hei Jiao's retreating figure, frowning slightly. 0

Suddenly, Hei Jiao paused mid-step and turned around. The Buddhist light in Xu Xian's eyes vanished, replaced once more by fear. 0

Hei Jiao furrowed his brow; he had sensed a wave of malice just moments ago, but now it had disappeared without a trace. He scrutinized Xu Xian but found nothing unusual and slowly turned to leave. 0

"Master, what happened?" Xiao Qing asked curiously. 0

"Nothing," Hei Jiao replied briefly before soaring into the sky. 0

In front of Leifeng Pagoda, Fa Hai stood quietly at the gate, waiting patiently. 0

Hei Jiao descended and surveyed the pagoda before him, unable to resist asking Fa Hai, "How many demons are suppressed inside?" 0
