"Did you notice anything unusual? Any other discoveries?" Ke Liang asked.
Qin Feng shook his head. "That's basically it. Everyone in my residence saw it. You can ask them."
Ke Liang thought for a moment and then shook his head. "No need. I'm just curious—why did the Eldest Prince come to find you?"
Qin Feng smiled lightly. "Perhaps he came to find Nie Shu."
Ke Liang was taken aback. "Nie Shu? Who is that?"
"Currently, it's Jingzhaoyin, Nie Da Ren," Qin Feng replied directly.
Ke Liang looked at Qin Feng in surprise, realizing there was this connection. He then relaxed. "Brother Qin, don't take offense; His Majesty sent us to investigate."
Qin Feng chuckled nonchalantly. "It's nothing. After all, a prince has died; it's quite normal."
Ke Liang laughed as well. "I should thank you, Brother Qin, for taking care of the Tiger King."
Qin Feng shook his head. "That wasn't me; it was the credit of Zhenbei Wang's son."
Ke Liang didn't believe it at all. "Zhenbei Wang was looking to collaborate with the Tiger King; how could they turn on each other?" But he refrained from voicing his doubts directly.
After walking a few steps, Ke Liang lowered his voice. "Brother Qin, the situation in the capital is complicated right now; be careful."
Qin Feng glanced at Ke Liang and said, "Thank you, Ke Da Ren; I understand."
Unable to hold back any longer, Ke Liang suggested, "Why don't you come to Zhen Mo Si? I can recommend you as Zhenmo Commander. Then no prince would dare to trouble you anymore."
Qin Feng shook his head. "No thanks; I'm not suited for Zhen Mo Si."
Ke Liang sighed, realizing that Qin Feng was resolute about not joining Zhen Mo Si. He wondered what had happened to make him feel this way about it. "Well then, if you need anything in the future, feel free to come find me," Ke Liang offered.
Qin Feng smiled. "Sure."
As Qin Feng saw Ke Liang off, he didn't expect to run into him and felt relieved as it spared him from some troubles, especially since he had already dealt with a eunuch himself, even though it had been handled discreetly.
In the evening, after Nie Rong arrived, he learned that the Eldest Prince had an incident at the Qin Mansion, nearly scaring him to death. It wasn't until he heard from Qin Feng that Zhen Mo Si had come to investigate and found nothing serious that he finally breathed a sigh of relief. The death of the Eldest Prince seemed to have stirred little commotion; however, those who had previously allied with him were now being fervently courted by the Second Prince and Third Prince. This turn of events quieted the capital considerably.
Things were also calmer on Qin Feng's side. Since the Eldest Prince had met his end here, the two princes still held some reservations. Thus, a period of tranquility passed.
Nie Rong was overwhelmed with work. On this day, the Provincial Examination began, and Qin Feng and his companions arrived early outside the Gongyuan. Qin Feng glanced around; there were quite a few people present. His snake-like eyes scanned their Destiny Energy. Most of them radiated a reddish-orange hue, but a few caught his attention.
One person's Destiny Energy was yellowish with swirling black energy that did not settle down. Another had a small snake coiled atop his head, while yet another, a middle-aged man without any visible Destiny Energy, appeared quite confident.
Huang Xu also arrived, his Destiny Energy displaying a purple hue, which was unremarkable. Qin Feng's gaze returned to the few individuals; they were all quite extraordinary.
Before long, they all passed inspection and entered the Gongyuan. On a rooftop outside, the Eldest Princess and Guan Mama stood watching as Qin Feng entered.
"Your Highness, Young Master will surely make it onto the Golden List," Guan Mama remarked.
The Eldest Princess shook her head, puzzled as to why he insisted on participating in the Provincial Examination when she could arrange for him to take up an official position directly.
Guan Mama was also somewhat confused; she had mentioned this to Qin Feng before, but he had declined, stating that he did not need the Eldest Princess's arrangements.
