Guan Mama snapped back to reality and turned sharply to look at Young Master Qin Feng. The thought of the demon crossed her mind, and she felt a chilling suspicion that he might be connected to it.
Qin Feng blinked innocently, "I have no idea how that demon appeared. It seems the capital isn't safe after all."
Guan Mama paused for a moment, studying Qin Feng's expression, and began to doubt her own thoughts. Perhaps she was overthinking it.
Zhu Fang and Ning Caichen exchanged glances, both feeling that the demon seemed somewhat familiar. They then turned their attention to the figure in black robes before them. Who was this person? Where did he come from? Their minds were filled with questions.
Guan Mama regained her composure and whispered, "Young Master, I need to report this to Zhang Zhu. After all, the Eldest Prince had an incident here, and there may be trouble ahead."
Qin Feng's eyes flickered as he nodded slightly.
Guan Mama left the scene.
Qin Feng turned to the others and reassured them, "It's fine now."
Ning Caichen approached Qin Feng and asked, "Brother Qin, was that demon the one we encountered at Black Mountain?"
Qin Feng glanced at Ning Caichen and noticed Zhu Ling looking at him in surprise. He nodded gently, "Yes, it's the same demon that let us go back then."
Ning Caichen quickly cautioned him, "Brother Qin, demons are not to be trifled with; you should avoid getting too close to them."
Qin Feng gave Ning Caichen a strange look. Was this guy really in a position to lecture him? Clearing his throat, he said, "Ning Brother, have you forgotten about Xiao Die?"
Ning Caichen froze for a moment and awkwardly closed his mouth. After all, he still had a female ghost with him.
Zhu Ling couldn't help but twitch his lips. Everyone around him seemed connected to demons in one way or another.
He decided not to dwell on that but instead said seriously, "Brother Qin, with the Eldest Prince dying here, won't it attract an investigation?"
Qin Feng waved his hand dismissively. "It's nothing; it has nothing to do with us. Let them investigate if they want."
In the palace, the old emperor frowned as he watched the old monk return alone.
"What about the Eldest Prince?" he asked directly.
"He's dead," the old monk replied straightforwardly.
"Huh?" The old emperor was taken aback, his expression changing dramatically as he stood up. "What do you mean, dead?"
"The demon's power is terrifying; even the Xiang Commander was killed by him. I was injured as well," the old monk said, his face pale.
The old emperor glanced at the monk, noticing his tattered clothes and the blood at the corner of his mouth, clearly indicating he had just come from a fierce battle.
His eyes widened in shock. "How could he be so strong?"
The old monk looked at the emperor and lowered his head. "Your Majesty, he claimed to come from Black Mountain, seeking revenge."
A chill ran through the old emperor's heart as he suddenly recalled a recent piece of news.
"Damn it! Zhenbei Wang attacked Black Mountain without permission. Not only did he die, but he's also dragged me into this mess," the old emperor said angrily.
"Hmph! I will issue an edict to execute Zhenbei Wang's entire clan to avenge the Eldest Prince!" His voice was filled with murderous intent.
The old monk sneered slightly; it seemed he was just venting his frustration on someone else because he couldn't deal with Black Mountain.
The old emperor's gaze flickered. After all, it was just a prince who died; he didn't care that much.
"National Master, was that demon the Black Mountain Old Demon?" the old emperor suddenly asked.
The old monk's eyes showed a hint of confusion. "Your Majesty, no. I have had the fortune to see the Black Mountain Old Demon once; it is definitely not him."
The old emperor's heart sank. "So, this means Black Mountain has gained another Great Demon King from the Divine Realm. No wonder Zhenbei Wang is dead."
The old monk remained silent, quietly standing to one side.
