"Uncle Zhang, Aunt Li, are you there?"
Suddenly, Zhang Dashan appeared from the side holding a hammer, his face full of fear and vigilance. When he saw it was Xiao Yun, he immediately stopped his attack, breathed a sigh of relief, and hugged her tightly, his voice trembling as he said, "Silly child! Where did you run off to? We were so worried!"
Xiao Yun felt the warmth of her foster father, and her inner anxiety eased slightly, but she knew it was not the time to relax. She gently patted Zhang Dashan's back and whispered, "Uncle Zhang, I'm fine, I'm back."
Zhang Dashan let go of her, his eyes full of anxiety and worry. "Suddenly a bunch of soldiers came to the village. They said they were looking for members of the resistance organization, searching everywhere, making everyone panic. Then they suddenly all ran away, as if they were chasing into the mountains. Silly child, did you... did you join the resistance organization?"
Xiao Yun was stunned for a moment, feeling a twinge of guilt and determination. She knew she couldn't hide it any longer. She nodded and said quietly, "Uncle Zhang, I have joined the resistance organization. We must overthrow this tyranny and bring peace to everyone."
Zhang Dashan's expression became complicated. He fell silent for a moment, then tightly grasped Xiao Yun's hand, a hint of determination flashing in his eyes. "Silly child, I know you're doing this for justice, but you must be careful. It's very dangerous outside now..."
Zhang Dashan turned to look inside the house and shouted, "Chunhua, come out quickly! Xiao Yun is back!"
Li Chunhua hurriedly walked out from the inner room and, upon seeing Xiao Yun, her eyes were filled with joy and tears. She tightly embraced Xiao Yun and said with a trembling voice, "Xiao Yun, you're back, it's wonderful. We've been worried about you all this time."
Xiao Yun at this moment worriedly said to the two people, "Wong Ji... Wong Ji has betrayed all of us. He even saw the mark on my shoulder... We must leave this place!"
Zhang Dashan heard the word "mark" and his face changed drastically. He knew that if this matter were to spread, Xiao Yun would never have peace again in her life. He urgently said to Li Chunhua, "Quick! Quick! Get the important things! I will prepare some dry rations!"
Li Chunhua also turned pale, but she quickly nodded and turned to go inside to pack some essentials. Zhang Dashan hurried to the kitchen, taking out dry rations and a water flask, filled with anxiety and worry.
"Xiao Yun, your mark cannot be known by anyone," Zhang Dashan said as he packed, "We must leave as soon as possible and find a safe place to hide."
Xiao Yun nodded, filled with guilt and determination. She knew that this mission not only involved her life and death, but also the safety of her foster parents. She took a deep breath, trying hard to keep herself calm.
After a while, Li Chunhua came out with a few bundles containing some clothes and valuable items. Her eyes were full of worry, but she still firmly said to Xiao Yun, "We will always be by your side, no matter what happens."
Zhang Dashan also prepared dry rations and a water bottle. He glanced at Xiao Yun and a hint of determination flashed in his eyes: "Let's go, we can't delay any longer."
As soon as they stepped out, Xiao Yun noticed a group of soldiers holding torches coming towards them on a nearby hillside. The firelight seemed particularly glaring in the dark night. Her heart sank, filled with fear and tension. At the front of the group, she saw Wong Ji, who seemed to be leading the soldiers with a cold and resolute gaze.
"Xiao Yun!" Zhang Dashan shouted urgently, "Hurry! We can only go by sea now! Quickly to the small port on the village side!"
Xiao Yun was shocked, her heart aching. She didn't see Lian Rong in the soldiers' ranks and didn't know if she was alive or dead. Her heart was filled with worry and guilt. She gritted her teeth, knowing that now was not the time to hesitate, she must seize this glimmer of hope to escape.
Three people quickly started to move, swiftly crossing through the eerily quiet alleyway as if it were the path of death. Their footsteps sounded particularly clear in the night, each step filled with tension and urgency.
Zhang Dashan led the way, his hammer ready for battle at any moment. A hint of determination and resilience flashed in his eyes as he swiftly moved forward with Xiao Yun and Li Chunhua. Li Chunhua closely followed Xiao Yun, her hands trembling but still walking resolutely.
"Xiao Yun, don't be afraid," Zhang Dashan said in a low voice, "We will be safe. Once we reach the port, we can escape by boat."
Xiao Yun nodded, trying to keep herself calm. She knew that everyone's hope was now pinned on her, and she couldn't let that trust down. Her heart was filled with determination, and no matter what difficulties she encountered, she would persevere.
Three people swiftly moved through the darkness, avoiding several potential ambush points. The shadows in the alleyway enveloped them like ghosts, but they did not stop, continuing towards the direction of the harbor.
Finally, they saw the small harbor of the village. There were several fishing boats moored there, and the night sea breeze brought a hint of coolness. Xiao Yun's heart was filled with a glimmer of hope. She knew that as long as they could get on a boat, there would be a chance to escape.
"Quick, get on the boat!" Zhang Dashan said urgently, leading Xiao Yun and Li Chunhua quickly towards one of the fishing boats.
As they were preparing to board, they heard the footsteps and shouts of the soldiers behind them. Xiao Yun's heart tightened, knowing that the pursuers were getting closer. Without much thought, they quickly jumped onto the fishing boat and began untying the ropes.
"Push the boat! Hurry, push the boat!" Zhang Dashan shouted loudly, pushing the fishing boat with all his strength to get it away from the pier.
Xiao Yun and Li Chunhua also exerted their strength, finally pushing the fishing boat away from the pier and starting to move forward towards the sea. Xiao Yun's heart raced, a glimmer of hope flashing in her eyes. She knew that as long as they could get away from here, there would be a chance to escape.
"They are over there! Quickly, chase them!" The soldiers' shouts rang out from behind, but the fishing boat had already started to move away from the shore.
Zhang Dashan picked up the oar and paddled hard, increasing the speed of the boat. Xiao Yun and Li Chunhua held onto the side of the boat tightly.
