Everyone was taken aback, and they quickly fell silent, straining to listen.
In the stillness of the night, the wind howled around them, causing them to frown. There was only the sound of the wind; no other noises could be heard.
At that moment, Zhou Ziling's expression changed dramatically; he could actually hear the sound of hooves. Simultaneously, Ning Caichen, Zhu Fang, and Huang Xu also heard it.
Ning Caichen exclaimed, "Hoofbeats?"
Huang Xu's face turned grave; it wasn't just any hoofbeats—it was a large number, like that of cavalry. After saying this, he froze. How could cavalry appear here?
Qin Feng narrowed his eyes. "They've come; do you see cavalry?"
The group quickly turned to look ahead, and upon seeing what lay before them, their faces turned pale.
Yin Bing Jie and Huang Xu trembled all over, their faces as white as paper. "How could we encounter Yin Bing Jie here?"
"This is Yin Bing Jie; it's over for us," Zhu Fang's eyes revealed despair. Had their fleeting hope just been shattered?
Zhou Ziling and Ning Caichen were also startled. Wasn't this just a legend?
Zhou Ziling couldn't help but urge Huang Xu, "You must be mistaken; that's just a legend."
Huang Xu shook his head, his tone heavy. "I would never mistake it; I saw it with my own eyes when I was a child." Fear filled his gaze.
Qin Feng suddenly became interested. "Oh? Huang Xu, can you tell us what Yin Bing Jie is?"
Huang Xu noticed Qin Feng's calm demeanor and felt inexplicably reassured. "Brother Qin, there's a saying you may have heard: 'Yin Bing passes through, not a blade of grass grows.'"
Qin Feng shook his head. Huang Xu sighed in disappointment. "Ignorance breeds fearlessness, I suppose."
Yin Bing Jie refers to soldiers who died in battle and became war spirits. They have no consciousness and instinctively gather together. Then they march forward, destroying all living beings in their path. He paused for a moment, fear creeping into his voice.
If there were to be a Jiang Hun leading them, it would be even more terrifying because Jiang Hun can gain consciousness but is driven by the desire to kill.
Qin Feng looked up at the distance and said lightly, "Our luck really isn't good; there truly is a Jiang Hun among them."
Everyone was taken aback, and Ning Caichen realized the gravity of the situation. "Can we avoid them?" he asked anxiously.
Huang Xu shook his head with a bitter smile. "It's no use. They've already seen us. Unless we kill them, they'll keep hunting us down."
Ning Caichen's face turned pale. "That's terrifying! Does that mean we're doomed?"
Suddenly, he remembered something and hurriedly looked at Qin Feng. "Can you deal with them?"
Everyone turned to Qin Feng, seeing him as their last hope; none of them wanted to die.
Qin Feng smiled slightly and nodded. "I can."
Ning Caichen let out a sigh of relief. "That's good then; I won't worry anymore."
Zhou Ziling and Zhu Fang also relaxed a bit, but Huang Xu merely glanced at Qin Feng. He didn't believe that Qin Feng could handle those Yin Bing, especially with a Jiang Hun in the mix. Unless he was a Golden Core Stage expert, it seemed impossible.
But how could that be? With such strength, he would have been snatched up by Zhen Mo Si long ago.
The one most frightened was Qin Wan'er. She held the little fox and curiously looked ahead. Huang Xu's words had piqued her interest; she wanted to see what Yin Bing Jie was.
Even the little fox turned its bright eyes around, intrigued.
Suddenly, a cold wind swept through, and the temperature around them plummeted instantly. A dark mist formed above, deepening the night.
The sound of hooves grew clearer as Zhou Ziling and the others had already gathered their horses around the Ox Cart, their bodies trembling from the cold.
