Ke Liang looked at Qin Feng with a smile that seemed to hide more than it revealed. It was said that consuming the Purple-eyed Fox at the Golden Core Stage could help one break through to the Yuan Shen Realm. The little fox trembled even more violently at the thought.
Qin Feng, however, merely shrugged. "That won't do me any good. I'm not relying on my own cultivation," he said dismissively.
The little fox let out a sigh of relief; its life was spared. But Ke Liang's heart skipped a beat. Could it be that this person was at the Yuan Shen Realm? Only someone at that level would find the fox useless. Clearly, he was overthinking things.
Qin Feng turned his gaze to Ke Liang, curious about this Tiger King. "Why hasn't your Zhen Mo Si dealt with him?"
Snapped back to reality, Ke Liang looked at Qin Feng with awe and then forced a bitter smile. "When the lord was still around, it wouldn't have been a problem, but now...," he sighed. "The Tiger King is among the top in Golden Core cultivation, and his physical strength is formidable. Any of our Demon Lords from Zhen Mo Si would face a disastrous defeat against him."
He continued, "If we were to attack en masse, the Tiger King would surely take at least one of us down with him. We can't afford any more losses in Zhen Mo Wei."
Qin Feng nodded slightly, realizing that Zhen Mo Si wasn't as optimistic as he had thought. It made sense why they wanted him to handle things. "If you want to reach Qingshan Mansion, you'll definitely pass by Dafeng Mountain. Be careful."
Qin Feng smiled lightly, "No worries, I'll just take care of him along the way." His tone was casual.
Ke Liang's face brightened with gratitude. "Thank you, Qin Gongzi! If you can take action, it would be a tremendous help."
The atmosphere lightened considerably after that, and Qin Feng learned more about Da Li's situation.
Things were not looking good in Da Li; the old emperor was aging and had not named an heir. The Three Princes were fiercely competing for the throne. Naturally, Zhen Mo Si would not interfere; they would remain loyal to whoever became emperor.
Ke Liang, being an outsider to this power struggle, had a clearer perspective.
The Eldest Prince was arrogant and looked down on his brothers, but he had the backing to be so—after all, he was born of the empress.
The Second Prince had a narrow mind and sought revenge for even minor grievances; anyone who offended him would end up dead by the next day.
The Third Prince appeared cultured and refined on the surface but was actually the most brutal and ruthless of them all. Offending him could lead to immediate execution.
Moreover, their temperaments were unpredictable; perhaps they were joking with you one moment, and the next they could turn hostile and kill.
Qin Feng shook his head repeatedly; these three high-ranking individuals were not worth much. What puzzled him was that Ke Liang actually expressed deep regret for a certain nobleman, saying that Qi Gong treated people kindly, respected the worthy, and had no airs about him, even towards the common folk. If he were a man, he would have long been the crown prince, as the Da Li Emperor favored Qi Gong the most.
This made Qin Feng feel a sense of curiosity about Qi Gong. Knowing someone’s face does not mean knowing their heart; what if all of this was just an act? He could either be a great villain or a great benefactor.
When Ke Liang finally left, although he did not achieve his goal, at least he managed to build some rapport with Qin Feng.
Qin Feng then turned around and grabbed the little fox, startling it into a shriek. His sister, Qin Wan'er, was also taken aback.
Qin Feng smiled at Qin Wan'er to reassure her that everything was fine. He then placed the little fox on the stone table and said casually, "Now, tell me, what’s going on with you, Purple-eyed Fox?"
The little fox looked at Qin Feng nervously, swallowed hard, and stammered, "I... I..." Finally, she steeled herself and said, "I’m afraid you’ll eat me, so I didn’t dare to tell you."
Qin Feng nodded thoughtfully. "Then tell me about your origins."
