"There's really no way to deal with this sister of mine," Jing Yiting said, rubbing his aching forehead.
After a big fight with their father, his sister hadn't come home all night. Their father was so worried that he couldn't eat or sleep, even calling the publishing house to cry to him for over an hour. One could only imagine how much tears and snot were involved on the other end of the line.
When pressed about where she stayed last night, she mumbled something about sleeping over at a friend's house, her cheeks slightly flushed. He couldn't help but be suspicious. However, he decided not to delve deeper into her overnight stay; instead, he was more concerned about her purpose for coming to the publishing house today.
She said she wanted to work at the publishing house.
Jing Yiting sighed heavily again. It wasn't that he underestimated his sister's ability to be an editor; it was just that she was notoriously fickle, easily swept away by enthusiasm for a new idea. Once her passion faded, she would abandon it halfway.
She had always been like this—whether it was learning piano or ballet, or even when she whimsically decided to read a set of classic literature, she would initially stick with it for a while before losing interest and dropping it altogether.
Fortunately, her capriciousness hadn't affected her studies. But she had just returned from studying abroad; why did she suddenly want to become an editor?
Editing was not an easy job. Unfortunately, his sister's stubbornness couldn't be dismissed with just a few words. So he thought it might be best for her to experience some hardships to dissuade her from pursuing this path.
Knock knock—
Jing Yiting looked up at the man who entered after knocking and said in a low voice, "Rofeide, do you know why I called you in here?"
Rofeide stiffened, a bead of cold sweat trickling down his forehead. Could it be that the Editor-in-Chief knew about what he had done last night?
