Jiang Ming stood tall, arms crossed, his posture as straight as a pine tree, gazing at the setting sun alongside Lao Hei.
The sun hung low in the sky like a massive fireball, casting its last rays of light and painting the sky and sea in brilliant shades of orange and red.
Jiang Ming's gaze was cold and stern, much like his Ice Heart Ability. With a steady and authoritative tone, he said, "Since you know I am the Mountain God, why haven't you run? Aren't you afraid I will bring you to justice?"
His eyes were fixed on Lao Hei, not missing a single change in his expression.
Lao Hei seemed to have heard the greatest joke, a smirk curling at the corners of his mouth as he silently stood for a moment. Then he flicked his cigarette to the ground and crushed it into the sand with his polished black shoes, as if that cigarette symbolized his disdain for Jiang Ming.
"That only works if you have the strength to do so."
Lao Hei's voice was icy, each word squeezed out through clenched teeth.
After speaking, he turned to face Jiang Ming, an arrogant grin spreading across his face that appeared particularly sinister under the glow of the sunset.
Suddenly, he spread his arms wide and leaned back. At that moment, the receding tide surged forward and crashed against him. A miraculous thing happened; Lao Hei's body began to disintegrate like splashing water. He transformed into countless droplets that sparkled with vibrant colors in the fading sunlight before swiftly merging into the vast sea, disappearing without a trace as if he had always been part of it.
"Hmph!" Jiang Ming scoffed at this sight, a flicker of determination flashing in his eyes.
He quickly activated his Ice Heart Ability, and the temperature around him plummeted sharply. A faint blue glow began to emanate from him, spreading like the coldest winter wind.
With a swift motion of his hands, a powerful surge of ice energy erupted from his palms, sweeping towards the nearby sea and coastline.
Hearing Jiang Ming's words, his eyes widened in disbelief, as if they were as big as copper bells. He exclaimed, "Brother Jiang, you can't be doing this on purpose again, can you? This is the second time! Last time with that Klick, I could let it slide, but how could you let this person go too? You need to come clean!"
As he spoke, he pointed at Jiang Ming, looking like a child demanding an explanation, his face filled with urgency and dissatisfaction.
Jiang Ming quickly raised his hands in defense, shaking his head as he urgently explained, "No, no! This person is an S-Class Ability User, just like me. If I wanted to let him go, why would I use such a large area of Psychic Ability to freeze this part of the sea? That would just be a waste of my Psychic Ability!"
His eyes reflected a hint of grievance and frustration over not being able to capture Lao Hei.
At that moment, Yan Qing slowly walked across the soft sand of the beach, leaving behind deep footprints, and approached the two of them.
Yan Qing slightly lifted his head. His deep gaze first moved away from Jiang Ming to look behind him and then scanned the distant sea, where the waves had just begun to surge again.
After a moment of silence, Yan Qing slowly spoke up, "I know this person—Hei Yu."
At this point, Yan Qing turned back and calmly met Jiang Ming's gaze. He spoke slowly and deliberately, "He is one of the four top wanted criminals issued by the Pacific Ability Federation, just like you. He is also an S-Class Ability User. It's perfectly normal that you couldn't catch him."
