The man turned around in terror, but upon seeing Yan Qing standing alone, he grinned wickedly. "You look pretty good. Does it matter who we capture? If you're so interested, why not play with me, old man?" 0

The contempt and lewdness in the man's eyes made Yan Qing feel disgusted. He immediately used his temporarily acquired Water Ability to trap the man inside a water sphere. The sphere was crystal clear, and the man struggled within it, flailing his arms and legs. 0

"Tell me, who are you trying to capture?" Yan Qing asked coldly once more. 0

The knife that the man had been reaching for fell into Yan Qing's hands before he could pull it out. 0

He laughed arrogantly. "Hmph, you don't have the right to interrogate me." 0

"Don't have the right?" Yan Qing smiled frostily, his grin as chilling as winter frost. 0

In the next moment, Yan Qing manipulated his Water Ability to extract moisture from the man's legs. They quickly shriveled up, resembling dry branches. 0

Seeing his withered legs, the man let out a wild scream, a piercing and tragic sound. His gaze towards Yan Qing turned even more vicious. "You damned brat! I won't tell you anything even if I die!" 0

Because it wasn't his own Psychic Ability, Yan Qing's control wasn't precise enough, allowing the man to break free with one arm. 0

Struggling, the man extended an arm out of the water sphere, a sinister smile on his face as he pressed a Red Button on his back. He laughed recklessly. "Hahaha! Just stay here with me; I’m dead either way. Having a beauty like you along for the ride isn’t such a loss." 0

The alarm on the ship blared loudly, its shrill sound echoing in Yan Qing's ears. 0

Yan Qing's heart tightened; that sound was flickering in his mind—it felt familiar. 0

This was the sound of a Timed Bomb. 0

Yan Qing's eyes widened as he hurriedly ran from the cabin to the deck. In mid-leap, he transformed into his mermaid form. His fish tail shimmered with blue light under the sun as he dove towards the sea. 0

In the final seconds before the explosion, the world seemed to be pressed into slow motion. 0

Yan Qing's eyes flashed with determination. Gritting his teeth, he plunged into the sea with all his might. The seawater rushed past his ears, carrying a salty taste that filled his nostrils. 0

He closed his eyes tightly, with only one thought in his mind: survive. 0

When he opened his eyes again, he saw the blazing fireball of the explosion less than thirty meters away, along with the surging water splashes. Yan Qing's heart raced suddenly, followed by a wave of relief at having survived. 0

He gasped for air, seawater spilling from the corners of his mouth. 0

The injected DC (derived catalyzer) could only last for four hours, and an hour had already passed. 0

Looking at his light blue tail, Yan Qing felt a deep sense of helplessness. He tried to move his tail and swim forward, each motion sending up splashes of water. 0

In this boundless deep sea, Yan Qing felt like a drifting leaf—small and powerless. His once neatly arranged hair floated wildly in the water, a few strands sticking to his sharply defined cheeks. 0

With a flip, Yan Qing's tail emerged from the water like a magnificent fan, its scales shimmering with a mysterious glow under the faint light. 0

He slapped the surface of the water forcefully, sending up a high spray before sinking back down. The surrounding seawater enveloped him, icy and piercing, but he gritted his teeth and pressed on, relying on memory to guide him forward. 0

Soon, night fell like a massive black curtain. 0

On the endless sea surface, the shimmering water intertwined with the moonlight, creating layers of enormous ripples that continuously washed against the rocks. Those rocks revealed their menacing outlines under the moonlight, resembling silent giants. 0

Yan Qing sat atop one of the rocks, hugging his knees with a furrowed brow. There were two pieces of news: one bad and one good. 0

The good news was that he had found this rock to hold out until his teammates could come to rescue him; the bad news was that the drug had gone out of control. 0

Yan Qing sighed helplessly, knowing that this was a physiological defense triggered by immense external stimuli, and the effects of the DC Potion had been prolonged. 0

He gazed out at the vast ocean, contemplating what would happen if his teammates didn't find him before someone else did. The thought of being discovered first by enthusiastic members of the public was truly unimaginable. 0

Perhaps tomorrow he would become the top trending topic, and he could already guess the headline—"Shock! Mysterious Mermaid Spotted in the Waters." 0

The wait felt long and tedious. Yan Qing idly swirled his tail in the water, creating numerous ripples. 0

A hint of fatigue and gloom lingered on his delicate features. Perhaps the solitude of a night sky was too overwhelming; the sea seemed to sense his loneliness and sent him its gift. 0

On the shimmering surface of the water, a bright yet gentle glow appeared. They slowly rose from the depths, a group of glowing Jellyfish. 0

The Jellyfish swayed gracefully in the water, their flashing colors capturing all of Yan Qing's attention. His previously dull eyes sparkled with wonder, and his lips parted slightly in surprise. 0

As his swaying tail gradually came to a stop, Yan Qing stared in awe at the allure from the deep sea; they were so radiant, like stars in the night sky. 0

A sudden chill from behind snapped Yan Qing back to reality. He turned around to see Jiang Ming standing behind him with his enormous wings spread wide. 0

Jiang Ming's wings glowed softly under the moonlight, and a hint of urgency crossed his face. 0

"Are you... okay?" Jiang Ming's voice trembled slightly, filled with concern. 0

Yan Qing replied blankly, "I'm fine." His voice was hoarse as he forced a smile. 0

Noticing the faint red stain on Yan Qing's already damp white shirt, Jiang Ming furrowed his brow, a flicker of pain crossing his eyes. "You're hurt." 0

Yan Qing casually touched the wound on his back, only to be met with a sharp pain that made him wince. It seemed to be swelling; things were not looking good. 0

"Alright, take me back first, then we can tend to the wound," Yan Qing said softly. 0

Jiang Ming took out a vial of medicine from his pocket, crouched down in front of Yan Qing, and with a determined gaze, replied, "Let's do a quick treatment first, then we can leave." 0

"What if someone comes to this area? We should leave now," Yan Qing said anxiously, glancing around with a hint of caution in his eyes. 0

Jiang Ming pulled Yan Qing aside and turned to look at the red mark on his back, his tone darkening. "You've been hurt here." 0

"Yes, but it's fine. We should just leave," Yan Qing bit his lip. 0

"I just flew over here; I'm a bit tired. Let me rest for a moment," Jiang Ming's voice was weary, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. 0

Yan Qing stopped struggling and accepted Jiang Ming's approach. 0

He lay quietly on the rocky surface, the rough texture scraping against his skin, but he couldn't focus on that now. He needed Jiang Ming to treat his wound. 0

Just as Jiang Ming was about to lift Yan Qing's shirt, he realized it had stuck to the wound. 0

Hearing Yan Qing's cry of pain, Jiang Ming reluctantly revealed his sharp claws, which glinted coldly in the moonlight. He carefully tore apart the fabric. 0

As he saw the mangled flesh stained with torn cloth, now pale and swollen across Yan Qing's back, Jiang Ming's eyes filled with bloodshot fury. 0
