Jiang Ming raised an eyebrow slightly, his eyes filled with confidence and a hint of defiance as he spoke slowly to Yan Qing, "Don't worry, I won't reveal my strength unless it's absolutely necessary."
His tone was firm and steady, as if making an undeniable promise.
He then locked eyes with Yan Qing, his gaze intense and sincere as he added, "I will protect you."
Upon hearing his words, Yan Qing's lips curled into a warm smile, a flicker of joy lighting up her face.
The smile was like the sun in spring, instantly dispelling the gloom around them.
Nearby, at a distance of over ten meters, Drui Feng returned from his surveillance with a light-hearted stride, curiosity glimmering in his eyes.
Noticing the unusual atmosphere between the two, he smirked and nudged Yan Qing with his shoulder, teasingly saying, "Hey, what are you two talking about? You look all smiles."
Yan Qing shot him a glance, a hint of helplessness flashing in her eyes before she slowly crouched down. Suddenly, her attention was drawn to a yacht in the distance, her expression shifting to one of focus and seriousness.
"Shh." Yan Qing gently raised a finger to her lips, signaling for everyone to be quiet.
Her face instantly turned serious, as if she sensed some impending danger.
Seeing this, Drui Feng also crouched down alertly and whispered, "What's going on?"
Yan Qing tilted her chin slightly, indicating for him to look over. Following her gaze, Drui Feng saw that at the shallow waters where the event organizers had set up twenty boats, a team had already arrived.
They cautiously surveyed their surroundings with careful movements, as if on guard against something. Then four individuals untied the ropes and slowly boarded the yacht before starting it up and heading out to sea.
The yacht left behind a trail of white foam on the water as it drifted further away.
Watching this team depart without any of the hidden individuals taking action, Drui Feng gaped in astonishment and exclaimed, "What’s happening? Are they getting away with it?"
Yan Qing furrowed her brows and shook her head gravely. "Wait a moment; something's not right."
"What’s wrong?"
Drui Feng pointed at the team that had already set off ahead of them and exclaimed, "Aren't we being too cautious? The other teams just haven't arrived yet; maybe there’s no ambush at all. Brother Yan, you're just being overly suspicious."
Hiding in the trees, Jiang Wenyu gracefully descended along the vines that concealed her figure. She stood behind them and whispered, "Keep your voices down; someone is coming."
Drui Feng turned around, saw Jiang Wenyu, and glanced at their surroundings. Apart from the four of them, there was no one else in sight. Where could anyone be coming from? Yet Jiang Wenyu's serious expression suggested she wasn't lying, and—
Jiang Ming was also gathering Ice Shard behind them, preparing for any potential threat. His gaze was focused and calm as he slightly raised his hands, causing the temperature around them to drop several degrees.
Yan Qing, unsure of the situation, slowly retreated and hid behind a large tree, moving cautiously and carefully.
Seeing this, Drui Feng curiously approached and asked quietly, "What’s going on? Why is everyone—"
Before he could finish his sentence, a cannonball suddenly soared through the sky towards them.
The cannonball whistled through the air like a call from the Grim Reaper.
Jiang Wenyu swiftly swung the vines to create distance, her movements agile and decisive. The vines danced in the air like green ribbons.
Drui Feng instinctively dropped to the ground and rolled away with quick and nimble movements. Jiang Ming formed an ice wall with Ice Shard to block for two or three seconds before grabbing Yan Qing, who was hiding behind the tree. He turned and leaped onto a branch, running in the opposite direction.
In just a few seconds, his actions were decisive and rapid, like a nimble leopard.
"Everyone run! The people from earlier aren’t part of this examination!" Yan Qing shouted loudly.
At that moment, an extremely eerie voice echoed across the entire island.
"Hahaha, little ones, you might as well surrender; I’ll make it quick for you. All the personnel monitoring your examination have been killed by us. Now the entire island is under my control; you can’t escape! Ahahaha!"
The voice of the man was like a demonic roar, sending chills down one's spine.
Drui Feng, momentarily taken aback, followed Jiang Wenyu closely behind Jiang Ming and Yan Qing. With a hint of excitement in his tone, he said, "No way, the atmosphere of this exam feels so real! It's like being on an actual battlefield."
"Hey, Jiang Ming, where do you think they got these weapons? They seem pretty intense," Drui Feng asked curiously while running.
Hearing Drui Feng's words, Jiang Wenyu glanced at him with a look of exasperation as they fled. He couldn't help but sigh inwardly. This kid still thought they were just playing a game during the exam; he really didn't know if he was being naive or just clueless.
Yan Qing's voice drifted through the wind to Drui Feng's ears. "This isn't an exam anymore. The badges on those people's chests aren't from the exam's alliance; they're from the Deep Sea Elf Organization. Our testing ground has already been compromised by them."
Drui Feng exclaimed, "Huh?"
A look of surprise and confusion instantly spread across Drui Feng's face, as if he couldn't believe what was happening before him.
The sound of cannon fire echoed behind them as Jiang Ming and the others continued to hide. However, this couldn't go on forever; their Psychic Ability would eventually be overexerted.
It was best for them to find other participants in the exam to cooperate with and contact the organizers for a cleanup operation. Who knew how many criminals from the Deep Sea Sprite had infiltrated this exam?
Spotting a cave not far ahead, Jiang Ming quickly called for Jiang Wenyu and Drui Feng to come inside. Once they entered, Jiang Ming swiftly sealed the entrance with Ice Shard, his movements practiced and quick. Taking advantage of the moment, Jiang Wenyu used vines to cover the ice at the cave's entrance, hiding their presence. It seemed that they were safe for now.
Once inside the cave, Drui Feng squinted at the three of them through the light filtering in from the small opening. "What's going on? Brother Yan, are you saying our exam has been ruined by these criminals?"
Yan Qing brushed off the dust from his clothes. "Well, if you want to put it that way, I guess it’s not wrong."
"Ah, so can we still pass this exam?" A worried expression appeared on Drui Feng's face.
Jiang Ming chuckled softly. "Still worried about passing? You should be more concerned about ourselves; it's likely those people will find us soon. Let's think about what to do next."
Jiang Wenyu nodded in agreement. "The situation is indeed unfavorable right now. We can't contact anyone outside the exam site, and we have no idea what their situation is."
Yan Qing frowned, "There's been such a significant situation here, yet the broadcast didn't give any prior warning. It's very likely that this group has already taken control of them. We can't contact them now; we need to take a detour to reach the examiner at Pacific Base."
Drui Feng scratched his head, "Contacting the examiner isn't a problem, but our small island is over a hundred nautical miles from Pacific Headquarters, and we don't even know the direction. How are we supposed to send a message?"
Yan Qing looked at Jiang Ming, and they exchanged a nod. "Don't worry, Drui Feng. Before we came here, I already investigated. Our examination site is Corita Island, located to the northeast of Pacific Headquarters. But for the exact direction... we need to find a compass first."
As they spoke, Jiang Ming suddenly pulled out a compass with a diameter of only seven or eight centimeters from behind him and held it out to Yan Qing. "How about this?"
Yan Qing's eyes widened in excitement as he looked at the compass. "Yes, this will definitely work!"

The four of them took a brief rest in the cave before cautiously stepping out and beginning their separate actions.
