Returning once again to the Stronghold of Power, the feeling this time was completely different from the last. On one hand, with the Origin Key in hand, there was no longer any concern about environmental dangers. On the other hand, the purpose had shifted; the last time they entered was for exploration, while this time the Shen Long Squad was here for slaughter. However, Lin Hanqi found it strange that even with the Origin Key, they were unable to sense the locations of the Myriad Venom Swarm.
It was odd. It seemed that these Wanduhong were truly not the original inhabitants of this realm. So what should they do? They couldn't just wait around for them to appear, could they? Qin Luoxi felt a bit helpless. As the inheritor of the Judgment Blade, she longed to unleash her power just like everyone else on the battlefield.
"Luo Xi, you've come to the right person," Lin Han said with a grin, then jumped high and slammed his fist down onto the ground. In the next moment, a massive Sand Scorpion was pulled out from beneath him.
"Chen Huaner, this one's for you!" Lin Han called out.
Chen Huan'er immediately shot him an exasperated look. After her innate talent had ascended to mythic level, she no longer communicated with ferocious beasts in the same way. Instead, she could read their memories and easily control beasts that were lower in level than her own. However, there were limits to how many she could manage; otherwise, it would be too easy for them to commit mass suicide instead of fighting.
"Hey, Lin Han!"
Moments later, Chen Huan'er finished reading the memories of the Sand Scorpion. It was strange; according to its recollections, those Wanduhong hadn’t been around for quite some time—at least over a month!
Indeed peculiar. "Let’s check other places," she suggested. The Sand Scorpions they encountered were all below level ten, which clearly wasn’t sufficient experience for their current levels.
As they searched along their path, they finally found a clue in a territory inhabited by Spider Beasts. It seemed that those Wanduhong had recently adopted a new strategy; they no longer behaved like locusts wreaking havoc everywhere.
It seemed that they were selectively foraging, flying in a specific direction each day as if there was something they needed to accomplish. Eventually, the Shen Long Squad came to a halt in a canyon.
The environment here was no different from other places; the land had been eroded by strong winds, giving it a very smooth contour. Within the canyon, a large group of Wanduhong had gathered, their numbers so vast that they could block out the sun. What were they doing here? The sheer quantity made it impossible to see what was happening inside.
Seeing this, Lin Han took out a Bright Flashlight, intending to get a better look at the situation. Suddenly, he realized that if he shone the light directly in, they would be immediately discovered. "This hat can make us invisible; everyone put one on!" he said, pulling out a pile of Magic Hats and handing them out.
He hadn’t taken them out earlier because they hadn’t reached this scene yet. Moreover, the hats resembled Western wizard hats, complete with a curved tip at the top. Lin Han really didn’t like the design—especially since it was green!
"Lin, I’m not doubting you, but can we not wear these?" Fat Cat asked.
"What do you mean by that? Don’t you trust me?" Lin Han replied.
Upon hearing this, Han Fei next to them immediately became displeased. "I didn’t mean it like that! Don’t think too much into it!"
After spending some time together, the relationship between Han Fei and Fat Cat had progressed further. Additionally, after Fat Cat's fusion with the Ancient Giant Demon Beast, his appearance had undergone an irreversible transformation.
