In the garrison of the Shiva Empire's Oracle Legion at the border, numerous military tents stood vacant. At this moment, Lin Han was assigned a spot close to the light cavalry's tent, with several guards stationed nearby at all times.
Leaning against the wooden tent, Lin Han's face was ashen. The recent appearance of the Sidi Demon God had dispelled Sassos's suspicions about his own strength, but that restrictive magic still needed to be dealt with.
Now, he and Qika had been in this tent for nearly a day. According to their agreement, if he was unable to send any information out within two days, the vanguard troops would create a disturbance at the edge of the camp. At that point, both inside and outside the camp would be in great danger.
Just then, Qika's voice rang out from outside the tent: "Get out of my way! I am a Demon Messenger of the Shiva Empire, a direct representative of the legendary Demon God! Do you dare to stop me? You must be seeking death!"
In the next moment, Qika burst into the tent.
Amon, possessing the ability to incite and suppress, had already sealed off the entire area around the tent.
"Commander! You—"
"Enough with this nonsense," Lin Han interrupted, waving his hand and speaking in a low voice. "Let me ask you something. Sassos is also a Demon Messenger like you; why can he be a Marshal while you are just leading frontline troops?"
Qika had unconditional trust in this commander and immediately replied without hesitation: "The position of Marshal requires assessing whether one is suitable for battlefield command based on the Demon God's Blessing. In comparison, Sassos's Demon God's Blessing is more suitable for command than mine."
Lin Han received the information he sought and waved his hand again to signal Qika to continue speaking.
"Stop wasting time; we don't have much left. Let me ask you: if we kill Sassos now, can you become the highest commander of this garrison?"
"Huh? Are you planning to take action against Sassos? Commander, isn't this a bit beyond our original plan?" Qika thought about it; his sole focus was to assist Lin Han in identifying the undercover agents lurking within their ranks.
"Less talk," Lin Han said decisively. "From my assessment, among Sassos's generals, there’s likely someone we need to find. If we don’t eliminate this major obstacle, we cannot proceed!"
As he spoke, Lin Han hurriedly stood up and activated his Special Item: Cognitive Awareness Countdown. After noticing some issues on the front lines of the Shiva Empire, he realized he could accelerate their plan.
Qika’s perception shifted again; his trust in Lin Han increased once more. He immediately said, "Commander, I can take over Sassos's position and grasp the situation in the entire military district. You know how difficult it is to eliminate a messenger."
"No need for more words; as long as you have that capability," Lin Han replied dismissively. The strength of Sassos was not within Lin Han's considerations at all. With the Special Items he possessed, it was not impossible to quietly ensure a Marshal's demise.
Moments later, Qika received further instructions and stepped out from the tent where Lin Han was being held.
Though his understanding had been significantly altered by Lin Han, if anything were to happen to Sassos, he needed to be prepared to control the entire situation.
