The entire forest was enveloped in a silvery gray hue, which was nothing unusual. At this moment, in the eyes of Lin Han and the others, the trees that should have been rooted underground were instead growing at odd angles, sprawling to the left and right without any support, their roots exposed to the air.
In the sky above, a vine-like structure descended from nowhere, swaying in the wind like a grapevine. The canopy of this forest pressed down low, resembling a barrier that covered the area. In the air, stones and clumps of earth floated haphazardly. If one looked closely into the depths, they could see patches on the ground that appeared blue, resembling holes.
The wind here blew downward! Chen Huan'er felt a shock in her heart as she noticed a few small stones being blown downwards by the breeze, hitting the ground with a thud that echoed faintly from above.
Just then, a branch shot straight out in front of her, leaving her astonished. On that branch sat a fox, seemingly embedded into the tree as if it had been forcefully wedged there, wrapped in withered bark. As the wind blew by, its limbs could be seen swaying continuously!
Lin Han stood at the forefront, still holding the map in his hand. It contained a brief description of this place with vibrant colors: "The blue sky is embedded in the ground; trees take root in the clouds; flowers and wild grasses grow parallel to the horizon, their fragrance wafting from all directions. Welcome to the world of chaotic order!"
"Let’s go; everyone be careful. This forest resembles Taihua Mountain but is entirely different," Lin Han said, furrowing his brow as he stepped forward. The route on this map was peculiar; it seemed one had to leap to progress through this forest.
If Taihua Mountain represented a shifting space, then this forest was about altering space directly—perhaps even transforming other things!
Suddenly, a loud explosion echoed from a nearby direction, followed by an acrid scent of blood wafting from all around—southward, northward, and even rising up from beneath their feet!
"Hey, Lin Captain! How did you get up there?" a member of Hao Hai Squad exclaimed in surprise.
At that moment, Lin Han was seen perched atop a floating stone slab, hanging upside down above everyone’s heads. Hearing this exclamation, he looked up at them while still clutching the map in his hand; his heart felt as if it had been struck by lightning.
"Stay where you are and don’t move! The order here has changed; it’s about the intrinsic properties of matter," Lin Han instructed urgently. He raised his head and began flipping through the map again. After pondering for a moment, he finally reached a conclusion.
The path he had just traversed was actually a jumble of countless shattered routes mixed together. He found himself suspended in mid-air because he had followed the original logic and order; where he currently stood was merely the next segment of that path!
Those deep blue patches were actually an inverted sky relative to the ground!
Understanding this clarified why his map appeared so convoluted and even overlapped in some places. The routes within this Disordered Forest were trails forged by predecessors from the Military Department who had lost their way countless times before carving them out one by one!
"Lin Han, where do we go next?" Xue Wushuang hurriedly asked.
Three meters ahead, that is the next location on this road! With your abilities, you should all be able to reach it.
Lin Han looked up at everyone, then simply sat down on the ground and began directing them. They would step into the forest one by one to find those so-called beasts that had lost their consciousness.
"Captain Lin, may I take a look at that route?" Mu Qingchan suddenly asked.
