Lin Han glanced at the bookmark imprint on the back of his hand, only to find that it had quietly vanished. He pondered for a moment, shaking his head and muttering to himself.
Currently, there was no clue regarding the Side Quest. He decided to gather more information later; this place was unlike any ordinary Dungeon. It was crucial to find Han Fei and Qian Yixuan first.
Lin Han was not aimless; he could at least confirm that Han Fei was the princess mentioned in the letter who had a birthday coming up. With a target in mind, all he needed to do was wait for tomorrow's celebration. Then he could seek out Han Fei and together they would look for Qian Yixuan.
After confirming that this was not a typical Dungeon, Lin Han remained calm. His teacher, Luo Shou, had previously taught that Dungeons could be categorized into combat types, resource types, and special types. The ordinary combat type was naturally a Leveling Up Dungeon, while resource Dungeons were valuable for producing corresponding materials.
As for special types, they had unique rules; the Fairy Tale Book likely belonged to this category of special Dungeons.
"Great Mage, your bathwater is ready," came Old Lev's voice from outside.
"I know," Lin Han replied in a hoarse voice.
The next morning, Lin Han stood up from his seat. He hadn't rested the previous day, yet he felt remarkably refreshed. He couldn't recall what he had done last night, as if he had skipped a segment of time. His last memory was of Old Lev telling him to take a bath, and then everything went blank.
When he shifted his focus, sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating the room. He felt as though he had truly rested and was full of energy.
"Mage, the king has sent a knight squad to escort you to the palace," Old Lev's voice followed shortly after.
Lin Han strode down the winding narrow staircase and reached the first floor of the bell tower. There, he saw a group of over ten people, all geared up and standing at attention. At the forefront was a knight wearing a pointed helmet.
"Respected Merlin the Great Mage, we have come at the king's command to escort you to the royal city."
Lin Han observed the group before him. Although they all wore masks, he could sense the murderous intent behind them.
"No need for that. I will make my own way to the royal city. You may leave," Lin Han's hoarse voice echoed, his withered face revealing no joy or sorrow.
"That cannot be. It is the king's order, and it must be followed."
What happened next took Lin Han by surprise. Suddenly, a dozen or so guards began to tremble uncontrollably, their bodies stiffening before moving in unison. The leading knight tilted his head at an astonishing ninety degrees.
The helmet clattered to the ground with a metallic clang.
Beneath the helmet were puppet-like mechanical faces, gears exposed on their cheeks, their eyes moving in sync with their mouths as they opened and closed.
A system prompt sounded.

Seeing this familiar interface, Lin Han secretly breathed a sigh of relief as flames and rocks began to materialize around him.
Accompanied by the roar of a Qilin and a deep growl, the earth cracked inch by inch, and the sky seemed to be ablaze.
