The Zhou family, originally a prominent lineage of the Empire's Guardian Knights, faced a tragic downfall during the calamity of Starry Land, leaving its members unaccounted for. Zhou Qingqing was the only survivor of her generation.
Chen Huan'er sensed Zhou Qingqing's body tremble lightly, her emotions becoming somewhat uncontrollable. She stepped forward and gently embraced her, speaking in a soothing tone.
"It's okay. It's all in the past now. You have us."
"Yes, I'm fine," Zhou Qingqing replied, her voice slightly hoarse. The confusion in her eyes was replaced by a flicker of determination. "They don't belong to this world. I will eventually drive them out and avenge my parents."
Zhou Qingqing's words were resolute, and Wu Qinghong slowly approached, wrapping her arms around Zhou Qingqing as well, speaking softly.
"Behind you is the Military Department. If the day comes, I will personally take you all to eliminate those beasts from Starry Land."
While the atmosphere among them was somber, on the other side, Qin Yu led his team with an air that felt somewhat strange.
"Are you serious?" The one questioning was none other than their instructor, Qin Yu. His handsome face darkened as he looked at Lin Han, who was unusually serious.
"Of course I'm serious. I want to try and join the exploration team. Since we have merit points, we should make the most of it."
"No way! That's too risky. I promised the old dean that I must bring you all back alive." Qin Yu's expression grew more complicated as he recalled how he had just brought them to a trading post near the Military Department when Lin Han suddenly insisted on acting alone.
"I can go with him," Han Fei chimed in unexpectedly.
Qin Yu's face turned even more complicated as he thought to himself, "Little Miss, please don't add to the chaos. If something happens to Lin Han, I might just get beaten up; but if something happens to you, that old man will definitely wring my neck."
"Qin Instructor," someone said, "if the captain is willing, just let him be. He's grown up enough to take risks; facing a minor exploration mission with a fifty percent success rate is nothing for her."
Qin Yu shot a fierce glare at Qian Yixuan, who was making sarcastic comments nearby.
"Shut up! Listening to you makes my head hurt," Qin Yu said, his face dark with frustration.
"How about this, Instructor Qin? I'll take Han Fei and Qian Yixuan with me. You can stay here and wait for news. Does that sound alright?" Lin Han proposed, believing he was making a concession.
Qin Yu still felt uneasy. He wasn't worried about Qian Yixuan; someone from the system could easily see through him. However, he hesitated when it came to Lin Han. If the next heir that the old man valued were to meet an untimely end, he would be the one to blame.
Lin Han wore a sincere expression, his urgency palpable in his heart.
