In the dimly lit cave, the unchanging rock walls made the exploration feel even more tedious. Han Fei walked ahead, deliberately keeping her distance from Lin Han, her tone icy. The Crystal Cave was one of the more dangerous types among the few resource-based Dungeons.
Based on existing information, it was confirmed that the cave had three levels: upper, middle, and lower. The danger stemmed from the fact that the Teleportation Array here did not transport individuals to the upper areas but instead sent them randomly to any location within the cave. However, we were fortunate this time; judging by the surrounding rock walls, we seemed to have arrived in the central area of the cave.
The beasts here ranged roughly between Ten Levels and Fifteen Levels. With our combined strength, we should be able to complete our mission quickly and then leave. Han Fei spoke little, likely to maintain her aloof persona, and this was the first time Lin Han had heard her say so much.
"You seem to know this place quite well. Have you been here before?" Lin Han asked, trying to make conversation. To be honest, he felt somewhat at a loss; Han Fei was the person he least wanted to be alone with in their squad—not for any other reason but because of her notoriously difficult personality, which Lin Han admitted he struggled to handle.
"Hmph! Do you think a Level Dragon Beast Master like me would come back to a mine like this?" Han Fei turned her head and shot Lin Han a disdainful glance.
"Fair point," Lin Han scratched his head, but he heard Han Fei continue.
"It's not just this place; I have knowledge of all fifty-four provinces within the Star Dragon Empire's fixed Dungeons. I—" Just as Han Fei was about to elaborate further, Lin Han's gaze suddenly sharpened as he lunged toward her.
"Watch out!" he shouted.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
As Lin Han tackled Han Fei to the ground, three boulders unexpectedly crashed against the stone wall behind them with such force that they nearly embedded themselves into it.
"You’re pressing down on my hair!" Lin Han exclaimed, still alert while a whispering sound came from beneath him.
Lin Han suddenly remembered that he was still on top of Han Fei and hurriedly got up, glancing at her beautiful face in a rush.
Han Fei's cheeks flushed unexpectedly, turning her face to the side to avoid Lin Han's gaze.
"I'm sorry, I was afraid you wouldn't react in time," Lin Han said, but his eyes remained fixed on the direction from which the attack had come.
"It's nothing," Han Fei replied as she stood up, preparing to respond.
Just then, behind them, the stones embedded in the rock wall began to rotate suddenly, a deep rumbling echoing through the corridor.
Are those stones alive?
As the thought crossed his mind, Lin Han instinctively summoned the Blazing Fire Qilin. Due to the narrowness of the corridor, it was not suitable for the Dark Black Tortoise to appear.
Han Fei also instinctively called forth the Dragon Sparrow. Before its feathers could fully unfurl, it was forced to land beside her.
The moment the two fire-element beasts appeared, the temperature in the corridor began to rise gradually.
Rumbling stones fell from the rock wall under their vigilant gazes. The stones started to extend outward and flip over, revealing a brilliant sheen on their surfaces.
Lin Han was astonished to see that those rolling stones were actually a type of lizard-like beast that had curled up and transformed.
They had blue or purple crystals on their four knees and atop their heads, with a pair of orange-yellow eyes fixed intently on the two of them.
