Lin Han stared at the figure before him, gripping his short sword tightly. To his surprise, instead of continuing to flee upon realizing there was no escape, the figure slowly turned around. The alley was dimly lit, but the moment the figure faced him, Lin Han recognized her.
So it’s you. What brings you to the Military Academy this time?
Beneath the Good and Evil Mask, Lin Han's eyes narrowed as he remained vigilant of his surroundings. He recalled that during his time in the Primeval Demon Realm, several black-clad individuals had pursued him, and their appearance might be closely related to the woman before him.
What is your purpose?
The woman, with dark red lipstick accentuating her smile, looked directly at Lin Han. For a brief moment, he felt a shiver run down his spine as he attempted to activate his Creation Eye to discern her true strength. However, it seemed as if the system had been blocked; there was no response at all.
It seems I was right; you are indeed the person we were looking for. In just three days, have you already begun to transform?
Her voice remained languid, but it sounded eerily strange to Lin Han. He felt a chill creeping up his back because in an instant, her voice shifted from distant to near. One moment she was within his line of sight; the next, she stood right beside him. He could feel her breath like fragrant orchids against his skin.
Instinctively, Lin Han stepped forward several paces and swung down with his short sword. Yet, as the sound of slicing air echoed through the alley, he found nothing behind him.
A few meters ahead, the woman in leather stood still, her smile unchanged.
Are you also from Azure Abyss? Are you what they refer to as "the dark one"?
The woman's smile faded as an unusual glint flashed in her beautiful eyes upon hearing Lin Han mention Azure Abyss.
Very well then; since you won’t speak, I’ll find out for myself!
Lin Han focused his mind, causing the ground beneath him to tremble slightly. Suddenly, a rumbling sound filled the air. A shadow loomed like a mountain as the Dark Black Tortoise materialized, causing the walls of the alley on either side to crumble inch by inch.
Dark Black Tortoise—domain activated!
Lin Han waved his hand, and the Dark Black Tortoise obeyed the command, raising its head as a roar echoed through the air.
In the woman's astonished gaze, darkness engulfed her in an instant.
"Dark Black Tortoise, hold her down! I’m going to fetch an instructor from the academy to handle this!" Lin Han declared, taking a risk. If his suspicions were correct, then this person from Azure Abyss would surely be bound by the Dark Black Tortoise's domain.
Faced with such an organization, and being relatively inexperienced in the world, he naturally needed to rely on the academy's power for protection.
Just as Lin Han was about to make a quick escape, he felt a sudden jolt in front of him. His entire perspective seemed to flip upside down, and he felt a sharp pain in his ankle.
When he looked at the assailant, Lin Han was taken aback to find it was the mysterious woman who should have been restrained.
"Have you lost your mind? This is the academy! How could you cause such a commotion in public?" The woman's voice was clearly agitated, and her expression darkened.
Seeing her flustered demeanor, Lin Han felt a sense of relief; it seemed she was also afraid of making a scene. Clearly, the academy still held some degree of authority.
