Lin Han was surprised, but the forging materials could only be used by a Blacksmith. It seemed that he would have to return and ask Blacksmith Fu for help in crafting some equipment. After murmuring to himself, Lin Han continued forward.
From a distance, the volcano appeared enormous, and now that he had entered its interior, it felt boundless. Inside the volcano, it was as if an independent world had formed. Based on Lin Han's speculation, there should be a ruler governing everything here, and this ruler's wisdom was likely greater than that of the Fire Spirit.
It was this ruler who had arranged for a Fire Spirit to lead a patrol squad composed of Fire Wolves and the Fire Bear King. These patrol squads traversed the maze-like tunnels within the volcano, searching for any intruders who had accidentally wandered in or intentionally entered—like Lin Han.
When Lin Han first arrived here, he indeed felt somewhat aimless. The intricate pathways left him unsure of where to begin. However, as he spent more time navigating these tunnels, he gradually noticed that the concentration of fire elements varied throughout the passages. This led Lin Han to a hypothesis.
Since various magical beasts adept at fire elements could exist here, and there was a king-like presence among them, it indicated that their ruler must also be highly skilled in fire elements. It was even possible that this ruler constantly emanated an aura of fire elements.
Thus, if Lin Han continued to move toward the areas with the highest concentration of fire elements, he would surely find the location of this so-called king. Finding the strongest entity here should logically lead him to clues about the first special item, the Hell Book. The Awakening Divine Stone's Awakening Quest could not possibly be without hints or connections.
With a clear goal in mind, Lin Han pressed onward in that direction. He could also distinctly feel that his encounters with the Fire Spirit patrol squads were becoming more frequent. This indicated that he was getting closer to the core area.
Just as Lin Han finished another battle and was preparing to rest, his Qilin suddenly reacted violently, roaring furiously toward the path they had come from. Lin Han immediately sensed the Qilin's agitation and turned his vigilant gaze in that direction.
He quickly recalled the two Beasts into the Beast Space and found a spot against a stone wall to conceal himself, retracting his Beast power.
Moments later, two figures hurriedly approached. Upon seeing the scene of battle that Ling Han had just left behind, they stepped forward to examine the corpses of the magical beasts, realizing they had only recently perished.
"That guy must be just ahead; these magical beasts were probably killed by him!" one of them remarked.
"He seems to be heading towards the Fire Source Beast. If we encounter him, we should act cautiously and secure those items in the safest way possible," the other replied.
"Understood. If he turns out to be strong, we’ll hold him off until the leader arrives!"
After marking their location, the two set off towards Ling Han's direction at a brisk pace.
Could it be that they are coming for me?
Listening to their conversation, Ling Han couldn’t help but think this way. He had been inside the volcano for nearly an hour now; during the first half hour of aimless wandering, he felt he had traversed most of the passages without encountering anyone else.
Now, with these two appearing, it was clear from their words that they were searching for someone. Given this context, it seemed most likely that they were after him.
