Who is she?
Upon hearing Su Ye's question, Yun Zhi Yue truly didn't know how to respond. Even if Su Ye was one of the Four Great Emperors, he was still an Emperor of the Celestial Realm, while Huai Yin, despite having lost the mark of the Underworld, was still a person from there. The two held opposing identities, and Yun Zhi Yue couldn't grasp Su Ye's intentions. What if he found out what had happened to Huai Yin?
Without a word from Yun Zhi Yue, Su Ye reached out and grasped her delicate neck, a gentle smile gracing his otherwise unruly face. "Not saying anything, huh? Do you think just because you’re like a plant, I wouldn’t dare to kill you?"
Yun Zhi Yue remained expressionless and did not resist; resistance was futile in front of an Emperor.
"You're joking, Emperor. I know you have an affinity for plants. You showed me some kindness back in the Celestial Realm, but fundamentally, we have no relationship," Yun Zhi Yue did not intend to defy the Emperor in any way.
"Ouyang Yan is very important to me. I don’t know what your intentions are, but I won’t put her in danger. What if you get angry and harm her soul? What would happen then?"
Su Ye scoffed, "You think that just because you don’t speak, I can’t do anything? Her soul is full of cracks; it can’t withstand your probing. You, on the other hand, must endure."
"I—Cao Cao Cao—he wants to probe souls? You know too much; my master’s affairs will be exposed!"
Yun Zhi Yue was shocked. "What did you say? Her soul is shattered; how could this be?"
Su Ye raised an eyebrow. "It seems your relationship isn’t that good if you don’t even know such a critical matter."
"I suspect her identity is that of a Mingfu Ren; her soul is fragmented. Reincarnation would be the best way for her to save herself, though it might not work well—she probably won’t live much longer."
After a moment of shock, Yun Zhi Yue immediately broke free from Su Ye’s grip and knelt before him. "Su Ye Emperor, having had a past with you in this Little World is fate from the heavens. I beg you to save her; I am willing to do anything for you."
"Yun Zhi Yue! What do you mean? You wouldn’t be thinking of betraying me, would you?"
Su Ye chuckled lightly. "Oh? Then let’s have a deep discussion."
As he spoke, he brushed his hand across Yun Zhi Yue's forehead, and a grayish-white stone phantom emerged. Amidst the furious shouts of the Reincarnation Stone directed at Yun Zhi Yue, it shattered into pieces.
Though it was merely an illusion, it could host the Underworld King Soul Artifact within its soul; no one would believe that you had no connection with the King of the Underworld. You know what I want to find out.
Yun Zhi Yue pressed her lips together and said, "She—Huai Yin—is the previous Meng Po; her body is that of a locust tree. When I fell into the Underworld years ago, she saved me and gave me shelter."
After hearing this, Su Ye smirked. "I see now; she passed on the position of Meng Po to you, didn’t she? No wonder she’s about to die."
Yun Zhi Yue's pupils constricted slightly. "What do you mean?"
"Ha, you can't possibly be unaware that your body is the Tai Chu Yue You Cao? With so many souls in the Underworld, how could she possibly save you?"
Yun Zhi Yue stood there dumbfounded as Su Ye continued, "Tai Chu is the Spirit Plant Prosperity. After the silence of extinction returns to the void, it is said that that woman, before returning to the void, fished out a spirit and kept it by her side.
Her body is not an ordinary locust tree; it is the Tai Chu Yin Huai. Like you, it possesses the attribute of Yin, allowing it to survive in the Underworld. The Tai Chu Ji Mie represents the cycle of heavenly law; without the Underworld Artifact to suppress the divine soul, it naturally returns to nothingness.
Yun Zhi Yue murmured, 'Since going to Mingqi Naihe means one cannot live, why did she pass on the position of Meng Po to me? Does she not wish to live anymore? And why didn’t Sister Three stop this?'
Su Ye shook his head and replied, 'There are no coincidences in this world. What you think is good for you may not necessarily be good, and what you perceive as bad may not be entirely bad either. There are many things that are difficult to comprehend.'"
